Argentina and Uruguay are going ahead with plans to make a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup despite expected competition from China and others .The South American neighbors are counting on sentimental support with Uruguay hosting the first World Cup in 1930. Read full article

    Oh yes. Give Argentina the chance to host the world cup and watch them squander millions of pounds and turn it into a “Malvinas fest”. Not they would dream of bringing politics into the game.     Who cares? The news in Argentina is now the preliminary mid-term election on August 13 and the reluctance of the dominant media to publish opinion polls, as most previous polls give about intention of vote for Cristina Fernandez give 34.8 per cent vote intention to Cristina Fernandez' Union Ciudadana, while Cambiemos of Mauricio Macri gets 31.3 per cent in Buenos Aires Province.
