The market value of all Falkland Islands Government, FIG, investment funds have increased from £285 million in June 2015, to £309 million in June 2016 and to £344 million in June 2017. Read full article

    Voice- The Governors uniform becomes his/hers to keep. Only thing that is not personal is the sword - that is currently in the safe keeping of the Speaker of our Assembly and will be presented to the new Governor as part of his Swearing in Ceremony.

    FCO used to pay for the uniform - a number of years ago they decided in the modern era a suit was just as good - we felt otherwise as we life under continual threat of Colonial Takeover by a foreign power - so we chose to pay for ourselves and keep the traditional British style uniform of our Queen,s Representative,

    Heh, how disappointing. I can just imagine the job advert: “Governor of Falkland islands; diplomatic experience an advantage, must fit size M uniform.”

    Why is it so expensive anyway? Are those phoenix feathers in the hat?
