Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay formally launched South America’s three-nation bid to host the 2030 World Cup on Wednesday and said Argentina would likely host the majority of the tournament’s stadiums. The presidents of the three nations, who announced in August that they were teaming up to bid for the tournament, kicked off the campaign at the Casa Rosada, Buenos Aires’ government palace. Sincerely,
Uruguay.
This is a ridiculous ploy. And I don't think FIFA will play along. It was already on skeptic flooring a two nation bid, but now three? The attitude of the Uruguayans has been twattish. When Argentina mysteriously approached Paraguay (which I agree with them is stupid stupid), they got all precious saying it was our idea and we did you argies a favor by sharing it... really? Who are the kidding, the one and only real reason they approached Argentina is because they realize that a one nation bid from Uruguay had a zero times infinity chances. Argentina is doing THEM a favor? They want 3 host cities yet Argentina would foor over 90% of the bill. Now Paraguay comes along and also wants to host. So Argentina is to just gift away half of the events revenues when it would pay for almost all of it?

In the unlikely scenario of this actually happening, Paraguay can host some Confederations cup games, and Uruguay can get only Montevideo as a World Cup venue. In any event both countries would get an extra venue in Buenos Aires, the largest Paraguayan city in the world, and the 2nd largest Uruguayan city in the world...

@Tr0lListic_Approach
Wow, you really don't like your neighbours, do you?
Why would Argentina end up footing 90% of the bill if they don't have 90% of the host cities? I thought building the new infrastructure was the major cost?
And I can totally understand why Uruguay would be angry if Argentina asked Paraguay to join in without consulting them first, especially if it was Uruguay's idea in the first place, and even more especially if they agree with you that it will make the bid less likely to succeed.
Also isn't the host country guaranteed a place in the World Cup? So do all three countries get in? That seems a little unfair.
Chopper's just angry because he's never been able to find futbol shoes that fit...
