Very interesting, they have reduced the charge from treason to “concealment,” no doubt an easier charge to get a conviction. But that's not all, Nestor Kirchner's cousin Carlos has been arrested. This paragraph in particular is very interesting : “Ercolini argued that Carlos Kirchner's behavior became ”hostile.” According to prosecutors Gerardo Pollicita and Ignacio Mahiques, he gave two false addresses in the case (one is an abandoned basic unit, the other is the headquarters of the federal penitentiary service in Río Gallegos); he emptied his accounts and safe deposit boxes to hide his assets from justice, and he owns a society that in theory is dedicated to selling retail paint, but that had an “exponential, dizzying and unjustified” patrimonial growth.“

And finally check out this video of Maximo ”Gordo” Kirchner. He's lost a lot of weight and suddenly gone gray, (that is if he didn't have it dyed to elicit sympathy.)The topic is unrelated, but the picture is well worth the cost of the entertainment. ;)

“Magistrates Martin Irirzun and Eduardo Farah said the crimes involved include public nuisance, misuse of authority and aggravated cover up, but revoked treason.”

The witch bunt continues, but with the absurd “treason” already falling perhaps the unravelling of the case begins now...

Truly, this Christmas season the world is tilted on its axis, and wrongs are being righted:

    - 13 political prisoners and members of Venezuela's Opposition are freed!

    - It is officially ruled that Kretina the harpy should be jailed.

    A great start!

What will the new year bring us?

Only if her fellow Senators vote for it. Given the threat her honest opposition poses to the “opposition” that voted with Macri on pensions, versus the risks to “opposition” Senators in supporting a Macrist show trial, this will be interesting. But hopefully by March when the Senate reconvenes it will have all collapsed

This ruling clearly shows the sort of clown Judge Bonadio really is. Let's throw anything that makes an effect, such as...(sound sitars, bongos and ukeleles) Treason to Fatherland. Done!

Problem was, Farah and Irurzun could not risk their relative respectability by endorsing such a ridiculous charge--so out with Treason.

    So...what's left?

Nuisance! Cover up...something to avoid irritating Macri and friends and end up removed as camarists. But treason is out.

In the meantime, what happens with the 'red alert' removal claim? Diligent Bonadio has so far ignored repeated offers to testimony, made by former Interpol director Robert Noble.

Of course, if Bonadio did hear from Noble, the whole accusation about Timmerman requesting the removal of the red alerts crumbles. Therefore, Bonadio won't interrogate Noble.

Another testimony to pistolero's impartiality and diligence.

I think you meant *there* are no statues of Cristina, nor will there ever be. And do you want to bet?

And stop being so childish with the video, its no great news that everyone dies, in Cristina's case I hope its decades from now, after a spectacular political comeback followed by a well deserved long and happy retirement. And if its old age she dies of, then that's not happening soon =)

imo Interseting article, looks like its an orchestrated campaign. Could it be that Cambiembos has a thuggish element...

One can only smile at the hysterical naivete of the general Argentinian population in general...All the government in power has to do is utter...“Falkland Islands” and the whole population has a melt down...In the mean time while all those “patriots” are gearing up to fight....the powers that be fill their pockets full on any kind of negotiable currency and plan on a quick get away...(They usually screw that up as well)....Kinda sad really but all part of what serves as Argentinian“”culture“”,for want of a better term..!

Don't worry Chicureo, English people can't spell correctly in English either. The whole thing is an illogical nightmare and whoever decided to spell words that sound the same but have different meanings differently should be taken out and shot.

I find it difficult to believe that Maximomhas not been shooting so either his gun has been loaded with blanks or he is aiming at the wrong target.

As for the money laundering charge, I have always wondered how the Kircheners family had become incredibly rich on a government salary. I know they own a law firm but how can that legitimately generate that worth of wealth when you are spending so much time serving the people.

The more public service the family did the more wealth seem to flow into their business when you would expect time commitments to mean that as they focused more time in serving the people they would have less time to make money for their law practice.

I guess sometimes God just rewards the virtuous.

She is an abuelita actually, she just didn't announce it with the royal we like Thatcher did ;) Surprised neither of you knew actually (less so at RICO's obscene references to Maximo). But like Marlene Dietrich in 1948 it just makes her the most glamorous grandmother in the world ;)

As for the wealth, a) its probably *a lot* less than the witch hunters say, and b) if Basil and then Sybil had both become PM, wouldn't business have boomed at Fawlty Towers ;)
