A Brazilian federal judge ruled on Friday that authorities must return the passport of former President Lula da Silva, seized last week on the order of another court after his conviction for corruption was upheld on appeal. An absolutely reasonable decision. Lula fleeing Brazil? You can bet if such were the case, his political enemies would be building a silver bridge for him to go. But that's not the material of which the man is made.
