Feb 23rd, 2018 - 04:20 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Next step will be to arm all the students over 18, because they can all buy guns at that age.At least they will stand a chance as it is in the American Constitution to bear arms for self defence. Can you imagine if the RNA had the choice there would be miniguns on every campus.
Feb 23rd, 2018 - 04:27 pm - Link - Report abuse +1When I was visiting Israel we noticed a young playground elementary teacher wearing shorts, a light weight blouse and sandals with an Izi submachine gun slung on her delicate shoulder.

Each society and country is different
Feb 23rd, 2018 - 06:15 pm - Link - Report abuse -1True. One difference is that in Israel it is Palestinians attacking schools, while in America it is other Americans. Another difference is that Israel still has conscription, and that young teacher you saw had almost certainly been in the IDF and had plenty of training with her weapon. This is not the case in the US, and the teachers are there to teach. If it has reached the point that they need armed guards in schools then they should hire professionals.
Without the willingness to take responsibility for it, 'freedom' is just another word for self-indulgence. And, all to frequently, that self-indulgence has fatal results...

Honest Guv'
There's a million teachers...

I bet all of us can name one teacher at their school that was not a full shilling....
President Trump is feeling the pressure and is looking at appearing to take action--on anything but imposing restrictions on weapons of mass destruction such as assault rifles like the AR 15.
Feb 24th, 2018 - 11:41 pm - Link - Report abuse -1Judging by some of the above postings, the distraction strategy may work in some measure, as many are now debating whether or not the crazy idea of arming teachers would make sense.
A country is in a dire situation when a lobby group for arms merchants can hold hostage a whole country to protect its bottom line.
Armed students [schools, colleges & universities] could be a much better solution for increasing the arms-sales.

If you think arming teachers is a 'sensible suggestion' then I feel sorry for you and the society in which you live.
Not to mention the fact that I rather suspect you are not old enough to vote.

Feb 27th, 2018 - 10:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0Why are you against the arms-sales?
After all, they are Made in the USA, give jobs, improve the economy, etc, etc.
The Manufacturers, as well as the Smugglers, thrive and support [finance] the government/s.
With so many benefits; the sales/exports are NEVER going to stop, in spite of your whining!
:o))
Feb 27th, 2018 - 03:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Are you unable to read.
Only a complete idiot would try and justify arms manufacture and sales in the way that you do.
How much do 30,000 gun-related deaths cost the US economy every year!
Don't tell me they boost the sale of coffins and increases the income of undertakers.
My only hope is that your comment was tongue in cheek however your comment about me 'whining' because I feel sorry for your society if it has to arm teachers implies to me that it was not.
In which case, if you are typical of your society then I do indeed feel sorry for it.

Feb 27th, 2018 - 06:04 pm - Link - Report abuse +1I'm just justifying the point of view of D. T.
The poor fellow has such a low rating of lately.
Thanx for calling HIS attention to: They boost the sale of coffins & increase the income of undertakers!
Pl. don't convince me - convince D.T.!
