Australian Catholic archbishop found guilty of concealing child abuse
An Australian court has found a Catholic archbishop guilty of concealing child sexual abuse. Philip Wilson, the archbishop of Adelaide ,becomes the most senior Catholic in the world to be charged and convicted of the offence. He was found to have covered up the abuse of altar boys by a pedophile priest in New South Wales in the 1970s. Read full article

I'm not even sure celibacy has much to do with it. It's not that the RCC has more paedophiles than other groups (though one might have hoped priests would behave better than ordinary men - apparently not). It's the fact the church spent so many years covering it up that is shocking, and worse allowed and enabled the culprits to abuse more children by moving them to new parishes where no one knew them. If they had hushed it up but forced the guilty to live in a monastery with no access to children it wouldn't seem nearly so bad.

Gordo, that may be so because I saw this reported somewhere a couple of years ago. I suppose California should have the largest latino population because it once belonged to Mexico.
