The International Monetary Fund said on Monday that talks with Argentine authorities for financial support are well advanced and the plan is driven by Argentina priorities with a particular focus on protecting the most vulnerable. Read full article

    Now, that would be refreshing!

    Indeed, this new approach would be a most welcome change from the IMF's practices in the last few decades that have consisted in tough adjustments chiefly impacting on the less fortunate.

    If the IMF is really intent on doing what Werner said, that means it would need to twist the arm of the Macri government, which so far has shown little interest for the most vulnerable and the local economy.

    Do I really believe this will happen?

    Naaah.
