NEW YORK — Terrorism is a persistent and evolving global menace. No country is immune. Social media, encrypted communications and the dark web are being used to spread propaganda, radicalize new recruits and plan atrocities. The threat ranges from the crude tactics of lone actors to sophisticated coordinated attacks and the horrific prospect of terrorists using chemical, biological or radioactive weapons. DT, dumbass much?
The best way to counter international terrorism would be for the US and UK governments to stop interfering in the complex domestic politics of Middle Eastern countries in a naive attempt to 'export democracy'. We will for a long time into the future be paying the price for the turmoil and hatred that this has created - in Iraq, Libya and now Syria. The 'west' never seems to learn this basic lesson, perhaps because successive governments are pressured to continue military adventures in order to boost the profits of 'defense industry' companies such as BAE and Raythoern.

I'm sure that they are well aware of a peaceful & long-lasting solution. However, it so happens that it is against their Best Interests. Trying [miserably] to control Terrorism+Arms+Drugs Smuggling; generates more Money+Power to the Interested-Parties on ALL the sides! So why would they STOP?

Do you really think that by having Middle Eastern countries alone by
Western countries peace will reign in Asia and in Europe? It seems quite naif from your side. I don't think that islamic leaders would leave their will to expand their religion all over the developed world. As Christianity did by expanding itself from Middle Asia to Rome in the past. History teach us that there are no chances of having pacific religious expansions.
I don't want to be contradicting or subversive or anything like that. I would just like someone to explain to me what exactly is the difference between a country's war actions, where they go invade or bomb and kill children or just go and shamelessly murder country leaders, bust into country splicing it in different territories, substituting its culture with western everything; and terrorism, which in the end does not do half those things. Amounting to when a bomb goes off killing six people in London it being called terrorism but when Israel in a three years kills 19 innocent children, it is not called terrorism. Can someone explain the difference for me?

@PE
Sure. Terrorism is a specific type of 'war action' that is mostly carried out by an individual or small group, and is aimed at causing fear and terror rather than any military objective. For this reason terrorists usually intentionally target innocent civilians, unlike regular armies. Also, I have many times heard Israel's actions called terrorism.
It's not like the UN is against terrorism but thinks war is just fine; preventing more wars was the main reason the UN was founded in the first place. They are generally opposed to both.
DT, you are an incredible dumbass.
