On Sunday, Brazil’s top electoral court ruled that “Lula”, former president Luiz Inácio da Silva, cannot run in the presidential election this October. He served two terms as president (2003-2011), he dutifully waited out the following two terms, and his Workers’ Party (PT) has nominated him for the presidency again. Read full article

Sep 06th, 2018 - 12:35 pm - Link - Report abuse +2I wonder who wrote this tripe for Gwynne Dyer.
Waving from his balcony for the public and press is definite evidence that he spent at least some time there.
Lula’s current conviction rests on little more than the word of an executive of a giant construction company, who claims he gave Lula a penthouse apartment in a seaside resort town in return for a lucrative contract with the state-owned oil company Petrobras..
Sep 06th, 2018 - 07:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0'...rests on little more...' ?? And Gywnne Dyer has the nerve to call herself an investigative journalist ? just a load of fake news..
There are no documents linking Lula or his late wife to the house, nor is there any evidence that they ever spent any time there..
'No documents' ? Really ? the contract signed with Bancoop in 2005 by Marisa Leticia...the same document with the old flat number visibly altered to the 'triplex' (after the construction was taken over by OAS).....Photos of Lula's wife discussing the reform with Leo Pinheiro.... photos of Lula himself visiting the flat with Leo Pinheiro...of course, it doesnt mean anything.
Ah, the two identical gourmet kitchens, one in the triplex, the other in the Atibaia country home...both paid for by OAS...a mere coincidence ? Of Course !!!!!!!
But there is plenty of evidence that Lula engaged in other kinds of dodgy fund-raising, not to benefit himself,.....
The usual strategy to admit to a lesser crime in the attempt to obfuscate the main one....
but to buy the cooperation of other parties in Brazil's congress, where there was a plethora of small parties and his PT never had a majority. This was illegal, but it was perfectly Brazilian normal political practice when he became president in 2003...
'but to buy cooperation in Congress...'...ah yes but that was a common practise - despite it being illegal - so I suppose that makes it OK....and of course, to get this cooperation, he was also obliged to favour construction companies with overpriced PB contracts ...with just a wee bit for himself (1 or 2% ?).....
As innocent as new-born baby....but why is Brazil so screwed up if he only did good ?

”the current notarial license number registered with the Office of the Register of Deeds of Guarujá where there is a certified copy regarding the levy of said triplex apartment, reinforcing that the apartment not only belongs to
OAS Empreendimentos ...These new documents, which must be taken under account during the appeal trial that will take
place on the 24 th , according to the provisions of Article 231 of the Code of Criminal Procedure,
confirm: (i) that OAS has always been and still is the owner of this triplex apartment; (ii) that
besides OAS behaving as the owner, by involving the apartment in financial transactions with
Caixa Economica Federal funds, now the apartment is also distrainable due to OAS’s debts, by
order of the court and, yet, (iii) that such facts are incompatible with the decision rendered on
07/12 by the judge of the 13 th Federal Criminal Court of Curitiba when he claimed the
ownership of the apartment was “assigned” to Lula.

As far as these NumbNuts are concerned; besides the witnesses, they expect Solid Evidence like the Official Agreements signed+stamped+authorized amongst the vultures, payments made/received - like any Legit-Business - invoices, receipts, bank transactions, audio &/or video recordings, etc.
:o))

Sep 11th, 2018 - 03:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You will notice that Numb Nuts, although hiding out somewhere in Canada, believes he knows more than those who actually had access to all the proof....but best of all, is that he finally concedes that the evidence - against Lula - isn't false........(lol)

Sep 11th, 2018 - 09:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So your dishonesty oozes out yet again. that the evidence - against Lula - isn't false”
When if the evidence submitted was false was to the issue of a lawyer tendering false evidence.
Therefore, confirming the research “researchers found that the most honest people were the ones who scored highest on the intelligence test.”

But not the person who states, 30,000 people should be killed, regardless that they are innocent. That congress should suspended.

Pretty obvious where your sympathies lie.

By your 30,000 people should be killed, regardless that they are innocent. That congress should suspended, I'd guess you presume I'm a Bolsonaro supporter.....to be expected from you, a typical radical lefty...but you are wrong.. Again.

Sep 11th, 2018 - 10:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0can't even remember your own lies.... Doesn't matter whether you remember or not, you just keep lying. Any search coupled with liar and your name will indicate the breadth of your lying. For example there's nothing that Lula has said ”Regarding the political 'intolerance'”
in ANY case:

Sep 12th, 2018 - 03:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Instead of posting lies and meaningless crap, why don't you check out a few youtube videos....this is just one, where a radical-left leader (Rui Pimenta, PCO) praises the 'luta de classes : operários x burguesia', and mentions Lula as one of the movements precursors....

Sep 12th, 2018 - 05:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I am simply rebutting your implication that Lula is responsible.
”Regarding the political 'intolerance', which led to this event, I guess we can thank ...”
And placing it where it richly deserves to be placed. He who lives by sword dies by the sword
Unless Lula sanctioned Rui Pimenta's comments he has no culpability.

Sep 13th, 2018 - 04:34 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's obvious you conclude whatever you want, based on wishful thinking, and when proved wrong you try to bullsh*t your way out of it => I am simply rebutting....
The simle fact thay YOU may never have seen the toad ranting against the 'burguesia' - of which he became part of - does not prove he has no culpability.....that's only your uninformed conclusion.... ....... If you have the time, watch the youtube link below :
Lula : o ódio da burguesia contra os pobres e as esquerdas

Lula and Pimenta (and you, for that matter) are, as they say here, farinha do mesmo saco

Sep 13th, 2018 - 06:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Meanwhile, at the present juncture regardless of what has or hasn't been said, the culpability for violence is squarely at the door of Bolsonaro. Who on a continuing basis, threatens death and grievous bodily harm to other political parties. So it should come as no surprise to him that others may take him at his word, and respond accordingly.
as they say here Well you're wrong again as I don't hold membership in any political party.

Sep 13th, 2018 - 10:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0the culpability for violence is squarely at the door of Bolsonaro....
You know, I did actually consider the possibility of your trying to blame Bolsonaro for the attack....but I thought, Nah, he can't really be all that radical and stupid....but must admit, THIS time I was wrong.....your insanity never ceases to surprise me Numb Nuts ...
If not even videos will convince you, then I can only conclude that besides being stupid, you are deaf and blind......regarding your uninformed opinion, how do you reach such a conclusion (that Lula would never do such a thing)? Because YOU don't know, therefore it MUST be a lie ? just a rhetorical question, as I know your reply will be more bs....
