Turkey ruled on Thursday that property sales, rental contracts and leasing transactions must be made in lira from now on, halting the use of foreign currencies for such deals in a fresh step to support the ailing local currency. All business deals inside the country should be conducted in lira, President Tayyip Erdogan said, adding that nobody apart from exporters and importers should cross paths with foreign currency. Disclaimer & comment rulesNot sure how that's going to work, when I visited Ephesus everything was in dollars, euros or pounds they would take any and convert it.
Sep 14th, 2018 - 04:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I took a taxi from Izmir to Ephesus and Mary's house where she apparently died, all in dollars apart from the entrance fee to the site which the driver had to pay in Lira and take dollars in return...
The cruise ship said you don't need Lira for anything...and they were right...
