I have a Mercedes that after 45000 miles the car key reader and ignition controller was gradually deteriating over 6 months and finally gave up. This to me smacks of a “ kill switch ” £ 350 pounds later it was fixed. I paid £ 120 pounds for a diagnostic check but Mercedes would not let me have a copy for a second opinion.I would sooner have bought a Toyota at least they have excellent after sales service.
