Krill retreating towards Antarctica because of climate change
A keystone prey species in the Southern Ocean is retreating towards the Antarctic because of climate change. Krill are small, shrimp-like creatures that swarm in vast numbers and form a major part of the diets of whales, penguins, seabirds, seals and fish. Scientists say warming conditions in recent decades have led to the krill contracting pole-ward.

Venezuela foils uprising by National Guardsmen; massive protest march announced for Wednesday
Venezuela plunged deeper into turmoil Monday as security forces put down a pre-dawn uprising by National Guardsmen that triggered violent street protests, and the Supreme Court moved to undercut the opposition-controlled congress' defiant new leadership. Socialist party chief Diosdado Cabello said 27 guardsmen were arrested and more could be detained as the investigation unfolds.

Second humanitarian visit to Falklands confirmed by Buenos Aires and UK ambassador
The Argentine government has confirmed that in coming days it will be meeting with Malvinas families and UK authorities to organize another humanitarian trip to the Falkland Islands so that the next of kin of the 18 recently identified Argentine soldiers can visit, honor and pray at their graves in the Argentine military cemetery near Darwin.
