Venezuela will live a historic day this Saturday, February 23: thousands of people will gather at the borders of the country for a massive mobilization that expects to receive tons of humanitarian aid. Read full article
I watched the Live Aid Concert yesterday. It was a surprise seeing Colombian TV broadcast images of Guaido crossing a bridge connecting the two countries on foot, in defiance of a travel ban imposed by Maduro. Juan Guaido was shown being embraced by the presidents of Colombia and Chile.
Today, all the borders are closed and everyone assumes more violence. History is happening, hopefully for change.

I am hearing from several Venezuelan people I know, that this situation will inevitably lead to a bloodshed in the country. They are desperately telling friends and family there to get out before it's too late.
Is a civil war inevitable in Venezuela? Has outside military intervention become a possibility if militia violence breaks out? What is your take on that?
I think Maduro will ultimately cave in to the pressure and negotiate a kind of soft exit. However that is not what most of the panas in BA feel like.
I have two Venezuelan neighbors here that we occasionally get together. Both of them are upper class educated professionals that have very successfully transitioned to Chile.
They both walked away from their homes and businesses 4 years ago and are obviously extremely bitter against the ruinous government there.
Last time we were together, their pessimistic conclusion was that there were too many hardcore Chavistas that will fight for the death to protect their Revolución Bolivariana. We have a large diaspora of Venezolanos in my country and they all seem to be also very angry.
It seems the eventual overthrow will result in a bloodbath.

To answer your earlier question, I think the US and the Lima group are wisely letting the the civil war erupt from within. Certainly agencies like the CIA has every individual military officer's social media account address and is bombarding them with messages to revolt.
Perhaps an OAS peacekeeping force might unexpectedly appear to support the transitional changes after the successful revolt, but I doubt before.

EL Think...
Peace and love, precisely ... that what's lacking in Venezuela.
I have two overwhelming feelings about this:
1. I know and appreciate a lot of Venezuelan brothers working and living here. I'm not making things up because of media manipulation. These people have witnessed the regime abuse. In fact, one Venezuelan I worked with, was quite supportive of chavism until he had enough.
Just don't bother yourself retorting to my cliché remarks about comunism. I will never agree with comunism, socialism, social justice and all that meaningless jargon. I've had enough of enlightened burgoise intellectuals during college to know better. They all thought they were intellectually superior because they could cite gramsci, lenin, marx almost textually.
Atorrants!!!
So, obviously, I guess you could think that I have been brainwashed against communism. And you would be absolutely right. I was in fact one of them in my youth.
Don't you think it is quite remarkable for a 22 yo sucker to completely turn around his entire belief system at that tender age?
I think it is quite remarkable indeed. And I'm very proud about myself because of that.
I fucking brainwashed myself out of communism!!
Dang!! I should be listed in the Guinness Book!!
Abrazo.
PS.: Scandinavians girls are not the ones with the biggest tits in the world. They of course are absolutely beautiful!
2) Seems to me that you went in and out of Communism at a tender age for the same reasons... The wrong ones...
I don't Think though..., it is anyhow remarkable for a 22 yo sucker to completely turn around his entire belief system...
As a matter of fact the world is full of such turncoats... and with a bit of luck you can make it into the llightyear long Guinness list of them..., right besides Pato Bullrich...
3) In my very limited experience... the chicks of the SOCIALIST paradises of Island..., Norge..., Sverige..., Suomi..., Danmark and Holland DO have the biggest silicone free boobies on Earth....
3) Careful sample taking would prove you wrong about the accurate sizing of such geographical features. Believe me, I used to keep a detailed control chart back in my days as a young collectivist fool (To be fair, Gramsci sometimes proved handy in order to drive my prey home after a thrilling chase).
2) No wrong reasons. Just questioned what my environment trusted as a given. Quite a mindful exercise. Numbers and facts above all. A handful of proven economic principles and a burning desire to defend truth, freedom and the American way.
1. My spots were pretty much Cleveland, Detroit, Rosario and Baires. Florianopolis as well. Domestic and Imported produce, relative to my stay. I statistically support the hypothesis that England does have a clear advantage cleavage wise.
2. I love people. But we humans are learning and sentient beings. You let the rich run wild and you get monopolies. You let commoners like us believe that the state has got your back and you get angry, selfish, mediocre mobs.
After all, it is just a matter of equilibrium. And size.
2) you say...:
*** You let commoners like us believe that the state has got your back and you get angry, selfish, mediocre mobs.***
- Suuuuure..., I say... Angry, selfish, mediocre mobs like in the whole of Scandinavia...right...?!?!?
I doubt Nicolas Maduro has the grace, the wit or the common sense to make a graceful exit. He is undoubtedly terrified, very angry and clueless about what to do next. The photo of his sumptuous Turkish restaurant experience amply demonstrated his tone deafness. In any case there are so many other people who have much to lose when the PSUV exists, I can't see how bloodshed can be avoided. And I have no doubt most are not true Bolivarian believers - just cynical opportunists happy to bleed the state dry and indifferent to the consequences, except insofar as their personal safety is concerned. I doubt that people like Diosdado Cabello have much respect for Maduro. I guess if they could shift enough of whats left of the nations capital reserves to Cuba they might find refuge there. Forgive my cynicism.
One can only hope that there still honourable military officers with the muscle an.d courage to do the right thing.
As a teenager I experienced first-hand my country's embrace the glorious dreams of the altruistic Unidad Popular and witnessed the malevolence of Marxist-Socialism. One favorite quote: Socialism sounds like a nude beach until you get there.
As I'm writing this, I'm watching the Oscars on TNT Direct TV Chile and there are a few Venezuelan adverts promoting consumer goods from several retailers. ...You would think everything is fine in Caracas...
I'm convinced anything is possible including a fabricated bridge hoax, but if true, it was brilliantly played. Most certainly the serendipity of the Richard Branson concert happening simultaneously in a specific time period with the presence of 4 presidents, etc... is certainly the consequence of an intense and sophisticated large number of coordinated PSYOP activities along with tremendous economical pressures orchestrated by the US administration in conjunction of Brazil and Colombia.
When successful, along with the people of Venezuela, this is obviously a huge win for the Trump administration and numerous petroleum multinationals. ...Russia, China and Cuba are probably not so enthusiastic.
Sometimes when a nation self destructs it eventually re-emerges far greater from the ashes. I hope the Venezolanos will also too.
Finally I truly believe Scandinavian women are fabulous, but those beer serving Fräuleins in low cut dirndls win the prize for ample bosoms...
”“Socialism sounds like a nude beach until you get there.” I've just got to love that phrase. ;-)
The bridge photo is surely a glitch but it enables the zurdos to cry wolf. China went so far into Vzla as to get a special economic zone within the territory. I was just starting to wonder when Trump's administration would start to notice the chiming.
I can't see how bloodshed can be avoided. And I have no doubt most are not true Bolivarian believers - just cynical opportunists happy to bleed the state dry and indifferent to the consequences, except insofar as their personal safety is concerned. This certainly sums up the becoming of the poors' defenders into consolidated self sustaining elites pretending to do good for capitalism's victims. I just think of the FARC, starting as the peasants' savers, ending in profiting from the white gold.
- Suuuuure..., I say... Angry, selfish, mediocre mobs like in the whole of Scandinavia...right...?!?!?
You put the people first in Scandinavia and you get Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. You do the same in Sudacaland and you get Peronism and some fertilizer as a byproduct.
Too many classic right wing preconceived notions for an old frail Patagonian to cope with...
I Think I will have to make do with just posting a funny video for welcoming back the newly resurrected poster...: Mr. Heisenbergcontext...
- Its about Mr. Tarquin Fin's referenced angry, selfish, mediocre, big titted Anglo South Pacific feminine mobs life..., ruined by the diabolic communistic permisive welfare system that..., apparently only works in Scandinavia...:
Just when I think I'm worldly and informed, I discover just how damn ignorant I am.
What the hell is a Bludger I thought... (Yea, I knew what a Sheila was...)
...so I looked it up...
Sheila — Australian slang for woman, is derived from the Irish girls' name Síle (IPA: [ʃiːlʲə], anglicised Sheila). Bludger — A person who avoids working, or doing their share of work, a loafer, a hanger-on, one who does not pull his weight.
Back to Ven iz Whale-uh (as Mr. Trump, the all American Dream champion pronounces it...)
It has been mentioned above that the picture of that closed bridge priding this article and dozens of front pages of the socalled world's best newspapers..., is no more than fake news...
Honest guys..., How many of you bothered to check before gagging on that false story...?
And how many of you did uncritically accept the news yesterday that the baaaad Chavistas had burned that truck with humanitarian help...?
For your education...,I include some footage from the most important COLOMBIAN TV news programm about that episode...:
You'll note my scepticism to Tarquin Fin about the contrived serendipity of the concert happening simultaneously... ...of an intense and sophisticated large number of coordinated PSYOP activities...
The blocked bridges and the large concert attendance was all orchestrated beautifully. Hill & Knowlton would certainly approve, if not probably being involved.
Once upon a time there were three little pigs and the time came for them to leave home and seek their fortunes...
The first little pig was named Mohammad Mosaddegh and he did his best to run his pigsty...
But..., one night of 1953 the big bad Anglo-American wolf came along and smelt the first little pig's oil.... He said ”Let me in, Let me in, little pig or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in...
The rest is history... we all know what kind of troubled pigsty Iran is today..., don't we...?
The second little pig was named Muammar Gaddafi and he did his best to run his pigsty...
But finally..., in 2011..., after years of huffing and puffing..., the big bad Anglo-American wolf succeeded in getting the second little pig's oil...
The rest is history... we all know what kind of troubled pigsty Libya is today..., don't we...?
The third little pig is called Nicolas Maduro and he does his best to run his pigsty...
Currently..., in 2019..., after 20 years of huffing and puffing..., the big bad American wolf is working very hard to get the third little pig's oil...
The rest will history... we all should know by now what kind of troubled pigsty Ven iz Whale-uh will become..., don't we...?
The only thing true about your little allegory is the word pig. Well done, you inadvertently spoke the truth, something I would have thought impossible, Borracho. :)
What good has Maduro done, or Chavez before him for that matter? Appart that you would admire these two just because they are communists, let's be objective for a second: Have they made Venezuela rise amongst the nations? Have they provided peace, justice and prosperity for its people?
Please don't start blaming the empire, the oligarchy, or any other daemons. Those certainly qualify as the most lame excuses of the left.
For about 15 years Venezuela has been left alone, doing as it pleased, benefiting from high oil prices and an unusual political stability for this region of the world. If chavistas were any good, Venezuela should be rivaling Brazil by now. Did the IMF tell them to print so many Bolivares as to render them worthless? Did the empire ordered them to arm loyal delinquents to defend the 'patria'?
You see the evidence right before your eyes, and still blame the wolf.
The thing is that the PSUV could have built a home of concrete but they just settled for hay and sticks.
I am deeply disappointed in your horrific HATE SPEECH declarations. I should remind you that there are several countries, notably Sweden, that aggressively prosecutes that specific evil crime including posting it on social media.
The Qur'an prohibits any association of swine, and for you to associate adherents to them is truly hateful. The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife. If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs.
I have attached an instructive video that correctly explains the true story.
Think, the US doesn't need Venezuelan oil. Once the Saudi's and Russians stop their contribution to the glut South Dakota will start pumping again, and the reserves discovered in Guyana are massive, likely to require less refining that those of it's neighbour, and a good deal easier to negotiate.
There's also the fact that Venezuela's debt with China is tied to it's oil production - they get first dibs on it. And then there's the Russians: PDVSA is obliged to deliver 88 000 barrels a DAY to service it's debt and unsurprisingly have fallen behind. Then there's the state of PDVSA's infrastructure, which is falling apart. Firing 18 000 employees 17 years ago - the ones who actually knew what they were doing - was not such a good idea in retrospect.
The pressure the US is exerting is definitely having an effect, but the situation the country is in now is entirely of it's own making, the facts are obvious to anyone other than an ideologue.
You make me feel like a mix of Salman Rushdie and Julian Assange on the run from the fatwa imposed over me head by the HEZBOLLAH/CIA infiltrated SÄPO...
Good to see you're taking serious countermeasures against those Säkerhetspolisen Vallhund bloodhounds...
The good news is the Säpo is not as efficacious as the Mossad, Rushdie escaped the Khomeini fatwā and your Big Metropolis certainly looks far roomier than the Ecuadorian embassy.
...However, if you're sitting in a restaurant one day and notice stranger at a nearby table ask if they have strömming available, I suggest you run...
If they ordered Strömming i wouldn't run from such sissy hogs...
But..., if they ordered Surstrőmming..., then I would start considering it...
A good auld hunting tradition in Sverige..., compulsory after having shot ones first moose...
A tradition taken..., I can see..., to new..., wuthering heights by YouTube and some Engrish Humour (and cleavage)...
Herregud! It can't be that bad, but I've never had the pleasure. (The cleavage however looked delicious.
Madame Lafarge actually makes a delicious faux gravlax using frozen salmon when it's on special offers from the Jumbo. Nothing perhaps to your standards, but it's delicious for us heathens.
Also, she uses slightly defrosted frozen salmon as it's easy to cut in cubes to mix with cubes of firm ripe avocado for a ceviche as it's so reasonable in price. We also use sweet red onions in the mix.

Brainwashed as you are..., I still hope you won't vote them rotten fishes come october...

2. I love people. But we humans are learning and sentient beings. You let the rich run wild and you get monopolies. You let commoners like us believe that the state has got your back and you get angry, selfish, mediocre mobs.
After all, it is just a matter of equilibrium. And size.
Well..., pebete...

- Suuuuure..., I say... Angry, selfish, mediocre mobs like in the whole of Scandinavia...right...?!?!?
Te falta calle..., pebete...

Feb 25th, 2019 - 02:29 am - Link - Report abuse +1As a teenager I experienced first-hand my country's embrace the glorious dreams of the altruistic Unidad Popular and witnessed the malevolence of Marxist-Socialism.
”“Socialism sounds like a nude beach until you get there.” I've just got to love that phrase. ;-)
Feb 25th, 2019 - 04:31 am - Link - Report abuse +1The bridge photo is surely a glitch but it enables the zurdos to cry wolf.

Even some of the conservative US media is aware of the contrived misinformation:
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-02-24/wapo-secretly-deletes-bransons-venezuela-concert-article-after-fake-attendance
I look forward to the day when the phrase 'fake news' disappears from the lexicon. I'm not optimistic that that day is imminent.

Feb 26th, 2019 - 08:32 am - Link - Report abuse 0The fairy tale of the three little pigs...
Feb 26th, 2019 - 08:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0What good has Maduro done, or Chavez before him for that matter? Appart that you would admire these two just because they are communists, let's be objective for a second: Have they made Venezuela rise amongst the nations? Have they provided peace, justice and prosperity for its people?
Feb 26th, 2019 - 01:08 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Please don't start blaming the empire, the oligarchy, or any other daemons.

Feb 26th, 2019 - 01:47 pm - Link - Report abuse +1SHAME on you!

Chicureo,
Feb 26th, 2019 - 06:50 pm - Link - Report abuse +1I find that the closing captions are most significant:
And the moral of the story is that bands with no talent can easily amuse idiots with a stupid puppet show ...
The irony within is outstanding Bands with no talent: who would that be?
Think, the US doesn't need Venezuelan oil. Once the Saudi's and Russians stop their contribution to the glut South Dakota will start pumping again, and the reserves discovered in Guyana are massive, likely to require less refining that those of it's neighbour, and a good deal easier to negotiate.
Feb 26th, 2019 - 08:37 pm - Link - Report abuse +1There's also the fact that Venezuela's debt with China is tied to it's oil production - they get first dibs on it.

Madame Lafarge actually makes a delicious faux gravlax using frozen salmon when it's on special offers from the Jumbo. Nothing perhaps to your standards, but it's delicious for us heathens.
To insult your high distinguished opinion, I've included a recipe:
https://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2018/06/beet-cured-salmon-gravlax-easier-and.html
Also, she uses slightly defrosted frozen salmon as it's easy to cut in cubes to mix with cubes of firm ripe avocado for a ceviche as it's so reasonable in price. We also use sweet red onions in the mix.
Skål!!
