An £8.15 million contract to build a new wharf at the remote Sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia is awarded to BAM Nuttall this week. The contract is part of a major investment programme to modernize the UK’s Antarctic infrastructure. Read full article

    Sad to see that a construction contract is being offered to a Dutch owned company and that a technical advisor is Danish.
    In spite of Brexit and in spite of all the British engineering talent, it seems that European companies and European ties cannot be broken or bettered by self-sufficiency (Yes, I know Nuttall was originally British but that is history).

    1) Remember to suggest to the good folks at Rambøl the safeguarding of this project future by dimensioning it for the ARA Almirante irizar....

    2) Remember to offer the translation into Spanish of the maintenance manual..., in exchange of a lifelong provision of Danish hotdogs delivered..., as need arises..., at my Southern domicile...
