Argentina condemns British MEP's likening foreign fishing to Belgrano sinking
Argentina harshly condemned the “lamentable declarations of British MEP Robert Rowland” in which he threatened foreign fishing in the Falklands area with “the same treatment as the Belgrano,” in reference to the Argentine cruise sunk by the United Kingdom during the 1982 war. Read full article

Jul 16th, 2019 - 12:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What is lamentable is the pride of the Argentine Navy was a crappy old rustbucket which survived Pearl Harbour and had watertight doors painted open so it sunk like a stone. It should have stayed where it belonged in Argentina. Anyway no need to sink fishing vessels acting illegally, just arrest them and sell them on.

That is the exclusive responsibility of the Falkland Islands Government. He probably doesn't know that, but he wouldn't be the first MEP (or MP for that matter) to have very limited understanding of the OT Constitutional relationships.
