Brazil's president renewed his attacks on journalist Glenn Greenwald over the weekend, raising the possibility of jail a few days after members of his party said the American's Brazil-based internet publication was “aligned with criminal hackers” for reporting the contents of hacked phone conversations involving the current justice minister. “Maybe he will be imprisoned here in Brazil” Say's one whom was never elected freely, and who's family is alleged to be involved in financial corruption, and a murderess militia. In Brazil you can only be imprisoned if you have committed a specific crime. Nor does bozo realise you are barred under the constitution from applying ex post facto law.
“According to the 5th Article, section XXXVI of the Brazilian Constitution, laws cannot have ex post facto effects that affect acquired rights, accomplished juridical acts and res judicata.
The same article in section XL prohibits ex post facto criminal laws. Like France, there is an exception when retroactive criminal laws benefit the accused person.”

At least ONE thing is absolutely sure! Brazil consists of Law Abiding Citizens! That's why Brazil has made such a lot of progress!

“The word fascism is undoubtedly overused in today’s political lexicon. ... One of the unfortunate corollaries of this has been a tendency to dismiss comparisons between today’s right-wing populists and early 20th Century fascism as facile and overblown. But this should not stand in the way of drawing parallels that ought to be drawn ... In the case of Donald Trump in the United States and Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, the appropriateness of the word is now becoming self-evident through the emergence of one of fascism’s major distinguishing characteristics: the trampling over the judicial branch of the state. ... He has spoken of the possibility of serving as president for more than the maximum eight years that is allowed by the constitution, ... But all of this pales in comparison to what an aide let slip during a recent Fox News interview. Discussing the Supreme Court’s ruling against the administration on the citizen citizenship question during July 12 Fox broadcast, principal deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley made a startling admission. He said that Trump had said to advisors: “Listen, I’m not going to be beholden to courts anymore.” ... During the 2018 presidential election, former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was standing as a candidate for the Workers Party ... a purportedly luxury property that da Silva was alleged to have accepted as a bribe ...the property in question was a modest apartment ... Moreover, he would hardly have had any incentive to risk his reputation by accepting it since he could have easily afforded to buy it himself on his salary as president. ... ”

Ah, social justice warrior and useful idiot Terry,

There you go again, accusing both Trump and Bolsonaro being fascists and threatening the truly Democratic nations that they currently are.

Your delirious hatred for what is good and positive for the people of those two nations is clearly evident, as both leaders are accomplishing good progressive things helping the lives of their citizens.

Greenwald needs to be reminded that he's responsible for obeying the rules of Brazilian law. If he violates the law, he's subject to the same penalties as any other foreign agitator.

On a bright subject, I'm delighted to learn that Lula has finally found love... It makes his misery even more painful while rotting in prison...

By the way, Trump will win the upcoming 2020 presidential election by a landslide...

Brasil acima de tudo, Deus acima de todos.

Hmm, in association with those two bigots democracy is not what the first thought that comes to mind. Lets exam the latest bedevilment to befall Greenwald. His mother is dying and the US immigration has refused a entry to his sons to visit her. Even though there are no legal grounds to do so. But an application to the federal court for judicial review should fix that quickly. To best of my knowledge his minor sons are legally beyond reproach. Whereas, the same cannot be said for the Bolsano's or the Trump's. Moreover, Greenwald is in complete compliance with Brazilian law since nobody has been able to show otherwise.
Whereas Moro the allegedly corrupt is clearly not.

Say what you want to continuously lie about, Lula remains rotting in prison where he deservedly and legally belongs. Greenwald is free to enter the USA, but re-entering Brazil is another story... Havana and Caracas remain with open arms...

Now Bolsonaro says he can 'one day' tell the president of the OAB how his father disappeared during the dictatorship. (His father was kidnapped and murdered by the military.)

How can anyone still support this 'man'?

“Say what you want to continuously lie about” Your the proof of that old saying 'talk is cheap'.
Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat (the burden of proof lies with who declares, not who denies) it.
“Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy; States of Affairs; First published Tue Mar 27, 2012

Since you have failed to meet your own burden you have conclusively proved what claim is a lie. Talk about stepping on a rake head and hitting your own face hahahahahahahaha.

    Chicureo,

You just have to understand basic simple “philosophy” and connect these thoughts, to see that they are true, and not false.

    Donald Trump was legitimately elected.

Donald Trump appointed 2 Supreme Court Justices out of 9 total. He is a fascist for doing this.

He now controls the U.S. Supreme Court.

He can disobey the Supreme Court, even though there is a close election coming up. And the democrat controlled House of Rep's are not dying to impeach Trump of anything.

Obama appointed 2 Supreme Court Justices out of 9 total. He is not a fascist for doing this.

A liberal president appointed a woman of hispanic descent, and a woman of jewish descent (no suprise).

A conservative president appointed a white male conservative, and, a white male conservative (this is fascism)

Due to my liberal religous conditioning, anyone who contradicts my liberal ideology must be energetically attacked and is, due to simple, basic philosophy, a “fascist”. This is not illegitimate smearing and this is not fascism.

I'm 17 years old, and I know enough about this world, and the above is all perfectly connected and consistent with the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and is therefore perfectly true.

The term facism is overused these days but I am not overusing it. I am using it legitimately. As per the above philosophically connected truths.

”The research group DFRLab has checked some of the Twitter accounts that triggered a campaign calling for the deportation of U.S. journalist Glenn Greenwald, from The Intercept website.
The protest campaign used several hashtags, and one of the most popular among them, (#DeportaGreenwald) was examined and showed that several of the most active accounts are suspected of mechanical behavior, through the operation of fake profiles and Internet robots (bots).
‘Vânia’, identified as @Vnia60277936, who posted the hashtag 294 times in four and a half hours, is an example.
he @Vnia60277936 account was the second most active one using the hashtag #DeportaGreenwald, which ended up in the Twitter trend topics section.
In addition to the name with a numerical identifier and a general profile photo, the DFRLab found that the account posted an average of 577 tweets per day; the company considers over 144 tweets a day as highly suspicious. On June 2nd alone there were 1,700 posts.

Do you think it's okay for the President - any president - to set himself above the law? Doesn't matter what we call it, it's bad for the country.

No. No one is above the law. And it makes me puke how a lot of money for lawyers can have such an effect on “justice” here in this land where “all men are created equal”.

Do you think it is OK for a Secretary of State to set herself above the law?

That's why you act surprised - just wait till 1 of the bastards [the hopeful ambassador?] becomes either the President OR at least a presidential-candidate! I'm ALREADY on my way Back-Home!

Nope. But she's rather lost her chance to do that now. It's the people in power that you need to keep an eye on.

Moro cannot use such a directive as No. 666, firstly it is not an enacted law passed by the congress/senate.
Secondly, it directly conflicts with the Constitution, Title Ii, Chapter I, Art XIV, and Chapter V, Art 220
ss. §1°. Thus, it is ultra vires.

Deltan Dallagnol, head of the Operation Car Wash task force, encouraged his colleagues to launch a secret investigation into Supreme Court Justice Dias Toffoli in 2016.

Deltan's effort is revealed in messages obtained from The Intercept Brazil and analyzed by Folha.
The prosecutor sought evidence that linked the justice and his wife to construction companies involved in corruption at Petrobras.
By law, lower court prosecutors cannot investigate members of the Supreme Court. At the time, Toffoli's decisions displeased the Operation Car Wash task force.
