    REF: “Trump said, in a joint statement”:

    The OECD or any other such Memberships are not free!

    The Poor-Members ill-afford the Membership + that too in return of questionable benefits to the countries &/or population! Simply put, there are no CONCRETE gains!

    However, it's political capital in the sense that boasting of such memberships and fantasizing enormous gains [in the distant future, of course] are amply used to deceive gullible masses.

    Such tactics are just illusions that are purposefully created to impress upon the ignorant masses so as to have leverage during the election-campaigns.

    Ultimately, selling or acquiring products &/or services is directly proportional to competitiveness. In an absence of competitiveness, the treaties, agreements or memberships are the most expensive toilet-papers.

    To compare competitiveness:

    I hope that Brazil can backtrack on its decision to lose its status as a developing country in the WTO. In the rest, I thank Trump for the lesson given to the Brazilian far (extreme) right.

    @Brasileiro

    Brazil has yet to cover many obstacles to reach the status of a Developing Country from the present status of Underdeveloped!
