An IMF technical mission is expected to travel to Buenos Aires in February to continue to exchange views on macroeconomic plans and debt sustainability, announced from Washington the IMF Chief Spokesperson Gerry Rice following the meeting on Tuesday of Argentine Economy minister Martin Guzman IMF members of staff in New York. made the following statement on Argentina today:
“Ms. Julie Kozack, the Deputy Director of the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department, and Mr. Luis Cubeddu, the IMF’s Mission Chief for Argentina, held a very productive meeting with Economy Minister Guzman in New York this Tuesday.
“The exchange was an opportunity to continue the ongoing dialogue and hear from the Minister about the Argentine authorities’ economic plans and exchange views on the debt sustainability analysis.
“Both parties reiterated their readiness to continue their discussions in the coming weeks, including on February 5th when IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva will meet Minister Guzmán on the sidelines of a seminar organized by the Vatican.
”In addition, an IMF technical mission is expected to travel to Buenos Aires in February to continue to exchange views on macroeconomic plans and debt sustainability.”
