Argentina's health officials confirmed the country's second Covid-19 case, a young man currently interned in a private hospital in Buenos Aires. The patient, a 23-year old staff member of a Buenos Aires elected councilor visited the north of Italy and was back on March first, but two days later had a peak of fever and other suspicious symptoms.
He contacted a local clinic, and was immediately submitted to the different tests, which later proved positive, and remains in isolation conditions.
The patient's condition is overall satisfactory, a brief release reported while it added that other epidemics investigations were taking place among relatives, friends and passengers from the aircraft that flew him from Europe.
We must insist to all medical teams in the country, public and private as well as social security clinics, to remain alert and follow the recommended protocols, underlined the Argentine Health ministry.
Another case under strong suspicion refers to a young man, 31-year old who recently visited Europe and northern Italy and remains under observtion in the town of San Rafael, province of Mendoza.
Argentine health authorities also confirmed that the list of possible Covid-19 suspects and awaiting finaly test results total eleven. Last Tuesday Argentina reported the first official confirmed case of Covid-19, a man who had recently visited the north of Italy, and apparently is recovering normally.
