A statement on the status of the current restrictions, and updates, will be made on Friday by the Chief Executive, Barry Rowland. This is part of the permanent information that FIG provides to the community on the coronavirus challenge.

The Falklands' Executive Council meets regularly to consider the Covid 19 response and make other policy, while members of the Legislative Assembly also hold meetings to consider the pandemic related matters.

In related news FIG said that 372 samples so far have been sent for testing in the United Kingdom and a total of thirteen resulted Covid 19 positive. All the individuals with positive results have now either completed isolation or treatment, and belong to military personnel at Mount Pleasant Complex.

This means that no cases have tested positive among the Falklands' population, and for this reason the link between Stanley and MPC has been closed for all normal transit.

Finally a further batch of 16 swabs was dispatched this week to the UK for testing, while the most recent results received from UK, 19 swabs were all negative for Covid 19.
