The Falkland Islands Executive Council met on Wednesday and considered the matter of easing restrictions on those businesses currently being advised to stay closed due to Covid-19. Announcements on the issues will follow this week.

The types of businesses fall into the following categories: public houses; restaurants and cafes; cinemas; and those delivering personal health and wellbeing services including hairdressers, beauticians, and physiotherapists.

1) ExCo has decided that as of this coming Friday June 5, those businesses delivery personnel, health and wellbeing services, including hairdressers, beauticians, and physiotherapists may resume operations subject to their heeding the advice contained in the “Guidance for Workforce” documentation previously released y the government as well as specific guidance for these types of businesses that will be released on Thursday morning on the government Covid-19 webpage.

2) ExCo has also decided that effective Friday 19 June public houses; restaurants and cafes; and the cinema may resume operations, subject to them heeding the advice contained in the “Guidance for the Workforce”, documentation previously released by the government as well as specific guidances for these type of businesses that will be released Thursday morning in the government C19 webpage.
