Javier Figueroa, currently head of the Argentine embassy in Cuba has been appointed as the next ambassador in the United Kingdom, and according to Clarin is an expert on Malvinas affairs. His time in Havana coincided with Cristina Fernandez daughter Florencia Kirchner medical internment, which impeded her from travelling back to Argentina. Read full article

    The appointment of Figueroa will indubitably make the Falkland Islanders wish to reduce their GDP/person to 1/5 of the present and demand to become inhabitants of a failed state in technical default.

    What does that mean? He is an expert in the Argy version of history, or he closely follows the doings of the FIG.

    The latter must be very frustrating for him, watching events from afar, with no control or even influence of any kind, over anything.

    After all they don’t even talk about shared fish stocks now.

    Probably don't get a Christmas card from the Islands now either.

    Must be an avid reader of Penguin News.
