Falklands targets a 3% yearly population growth and doubles permanent residence permits

The Falkland Islands Executive Council has agreed to double the yearly quota of permanent residence permits (PRP) to 90. According to a paper published last week, the figure has been set to target a 3% yearly population growth. Read full article

Just letting them set foot in the Falklands is a really bad idea.

How could you let a citizen of a land who has stealing the Falklands written into their constitution become a resident of the Falklands?

As I understand it there are some 30 Argys resident in the Falklands, although they won’t talk about them, interestingly the maths show they overwhelmingly voted in the referendum and for remaining a BOT.

No doubt Stink will regard them as “Cipayos”.

FIG has been giving this a lot of consideration and working hard to figure out the best way to maintain and expand our workforce, making more workers locally employed rather than on short-term contract. The higher quota, coupled with the rejigged process and qualification system will be well subscribed. My only regret is that this wasn't figured out about seven or eight years ago. Unfortunately we had an elected government and civil service that lacked vision in those days.

Time for a nice hot shower after a hard day at it.
