It's another exceptionally beautiful day here in the glorious Aconcagua Valley and we're currently in the process of planting — a new table grape vineyard on a small piece of land we've retained as a family for over a century.

The Greenpeace radicals really need to cut down all the thousands of trees lining the Aconcagua valley that literally consume over one thousand liters daily each. (Unlike the superfood and labor providing avocado orchards that we carefully monitor their water usage.)

I also strongly support the strict enforcement of my nation's water ownership laws and unscrupulous growers stealing water should be severely punished. Water should be carefully conserved and used for the benefit of the people, which certainly respects private property on which taxes are properly paid. Also, I completely agree that public municipalities should be provided with clean water.

Remember old friend, Chile's Aconcagua Valley is a special place — the people, the vineyards, the orchards and the majestic Andes mountains. To give you an idea of what makes my family's avocados particularly special, they grow in one of the most enchanting hillside areas of my humble country — that is ideal is for growing them.

We’re talking about the beautiful landscape, the freshest Pacific and Andean breezes and, of course, the friendly Chilean sun. The most sublime weather conditions foster the growth of our superfood. This, accompanied by our care as hard working avocado growers — ensures you of that creamy avocado taste with each slice.

Hoping your Ligurian Summer is as pleasant, as our Winter is here.

    ¡Saludos!

I'm finally back today here in Chicureo, with two of my oldest delightful grandchildren visiting and Madame is making maracuyá icecream. The weather is spectacular with one of the benefits of this pandemic lockdown — the sky over the Santiago region is crystal clear.

You have an interesting perspective about American politics and I sincerely respect your intuitive viewpoint — especially regarding the accusations against political operatives. Frankly you and I share a similar advocation of following the political outliers, such like AOC on your side — and myself with Trump.

I honestly think that IF the Democrat Party had chosen a dynamic candidate, like Tulsi Gabbard — Americans would change course, but instead they chose one of the least inspiring old political hacks that represent the Washington DC swamp.

As I've said before, Trump and the Republican Party will easily win in landslide victories on November 3rd. I sense that you realize — that the Democrats have screwed themselves.

I would also again insist that the current pandemic strategy of shutting down the world economy is a terrible mistake. The Swedish model, with its admitted flaws, is still what I think Latin America should completely embrace and develop a herd immunity. Too many people desperately need employment. (The current level of poverty and misery here due to the pandemic shutdown in Chile is completely untenable!)

It's a perfect weekend and we're planning a modest asado for the afternoon. Life at the moment is wonderful and I sincerely hope your European Summer is equally as pleasant.

    ¡Saludos!

Good to hear you're doing “ok” there. You are certainly one of the most enchanting cultural areas of the Mediterranean and I envy your freedom.

On the bright side in Chile, they've finally allowed the opening of the El Colorado ski resort and we'll be skiing there — starting Tuesday. Although Valle Nevado remains closed, our apartment is just a very short drive away and the snow conditions are certainly the best in a decade. Currently, the weather here is phenomenally outstanding.

As I said before, “you are like the Wind and I like the Lion. You form the tempest, the sand stings my eyes and I roar in defiance but you do not hear. But between us there is a difference. I like the Lion must remain in my place, but you like the wind, will never know yours.”

Hard to disagree with your thoughts about what more does a man need from life...

We should however clarify what we're betting upon and for what reason. Trump is a very successful sociopath that is far superior in political manipulation to Biden. Frankly the Democrat Party has made a terrible strategic error in choosing a candidate to recover the presidency. In fact, they will also lose their majority in congress.

Economically it really doesn't matter much for my economic future. The Americans will buy my avocados and grapes, no matter what the outcome. My concerns are more related to an upheaval of social order in Chile — or the sometimes angry goddess Pachamama bitch ruining my crop.

“La vera dolcezza del vino è un gusto. The true sweetness of wine is one flavour.”

They supposedly have a saying in Italy that all women, no matter from which land; they're all beautiful in their own unique manner.

But the truth is that they ARE NOT anything like that. They are truly like Pachamama — as they can make your life very pleasant and yet quickly ruin your life in literally in an instant.

As far as American Democrat Party politicians, you admire AOC and I prefer Tulsi Gabbard. It's a matter of taste...

Anyway, my thoughts are now focused on skiing on Tuesday. We had another good snowfall in the Andes last night.

    - My humble and probably wrong take of the 2020 Yank political reality is that a small but decisive minority of last time Trump voters will..., as you already have done..., realise that Trump is a sociopath...

For what it's worth, I withdrew my sharp criticism of Héctor Timerman when I learned of his illness. I think it was a shame his medical attention was delayed due to politics.

I appreciate you sharing the article and although I do not believe CFK would be foolish to be involved in the “suicide/assassination” of Nisman — most of the world that has followed the death and the AMIA bombing, seem to remain highly suspicious — no matter what has, or will be, officially determined.

Regarding the America elections — the Democrat Party has made two critical errors. One was to nominate, against the liberal progressive factions — a very poor candidate that has to be carefully handled. And second, the intense focus on attacking Trump, instead of embracing positive social change that the voter base would be attracted to.

They had many viable postulants that were highly capable of winning, but Tulsi Gabbard was my personal favorite. Despite her military service, she wanted the Americans to withdraw from the Middle East.

The reason why I think Trump will win in a landslide is because of all the new Latino and African American supporters. Including many are actually running for office as Republicans: https://youtu.be/aMWee5bZ-Ak

But, then again — “you may be right and I might be crazy” — 2020 has been the most unusual year since the 1970s.

If Trump fails, I'll open a bottle of single malt and toast you when the elections are called. What truly scares me is Pachamama's mood swings and the volatile politics of my country...

Are things there getting back to somewhat normal yet? Obviously with changes and social distancing — but are the restaurants there open again?

Saturday night, la cordillera de los Andes was beautifully dusted with another layer of fresh powder and the view from Santiago is just stunning.

Pachamama's mood swings are certainly what concerns me, but far differently than your perspective. During my lifetime, we've experienced some really difficult climatic traumas, including three deep freezes in my valley — of which one actually destroyed our orchard trees in early spring. (The sap froze and split the trunks.)

Drought is perhaps Pachamama's most evil threat — but the one that we've best prepared ourselves to handle. Thankfully this year Pachamama's daughter has brought us ample snowpack in the Andes.

Climate changes do not frighten us — but instead reminds that we need to always anticipate the worst at any moment in time. Farming has always been a high stakes game of those who dare everything.

Tonight we'll be back to Valle Nevado — and with luck I'll be admiring Madame in her new Bogner ski outfit on the slopes of El Colorado tomorrow. You'll perhaps remember, I've mentioned that she was a winning national competitor in numerous ski slaloms before she became engaged to a naval ensign.

Absolutely one of the best ski days of recent memory. The fresh snowpack was near perfect and the was weather outstanding with virtually no lift lines.

In the past El Colorado has always had a problem of being overcrowded with novice skiers, but today it was an Andean paradise — with us able to make fast giant slalom turns all the way to the bottom and immediately take a lift back to the top again. We saw a weather front approaching and decide return to our gypsy camp.

You were complete astute about how she is mesmerizing in her form-fitting Bogner! It's actually sensual watching ma enchanteresse attacking the slopes, laying deep into each giant slalom turn, blowing fresh snow over her head — and when we stop, her eyes are wide and wild, she seems at a loss for words. I understand — I feel it, too. Pure, unadulterated happiness!

Snow is falling as I write this message to the sunny Mediterranean.
