A new low for Argentine Falkland Islands' sovereignty claim propagandists

Saturday, November 21st 2020 - 09:55 UTC
Full article 58 comments

By John Fowler (*) – The selective amnesia of successive Argentine governments never ceases to amaze. Last week, during universal rejoicing in the Falklands that the eleven year-long demining campaign had finally come to a successful conclusion, the Argentine Government was complaining about it in Geneva. - I think..., I'll wait and let them Anglo Turnip regulars embarrass themselves with their usual turnipy comments..., before answering..., to the best of my knowledge..., some of the most contentious points in this personal opinion piece by Mr. John Fowler...

    I want though to clearly state that..., IMHO..., this personal opinion piece by Engrish Mr. John Fowler..., trying to besmirch and politicize the Argentinean involvment and participation in this humanitarian triumph of a Red Cross tripartite effort..., far from bringing shame upon the Malvinas/Falklands population and local government..., is proof and testimony of the freedom of expression currently existent in them windblown Isles...

    EXACTLY THE SAME AS the personal opinion piece by Argie Ms. Castelanelli and “Agenda Malvinas”..., trying to besmirch and politicize the Engrish involvment and participation in this humanitarian triumph of a Red Cross tripartite effort..., far from bringing shame upon the Argentinean population and government..., is proof and testimony of the freedom of expression currently existent in me dear young Argentina...

    Thanks @Think. Always a refreshingly different perspective!
    There are just so many things that are completely different about this post war confrontationist condition between two countries in the world, that really, the Falkland/ Malvinas Islands sovereignty dispute should be a case study project for international politics and warfare in university. It so poignantly exhibits the poorest most self centered and rancorous aspects of human nature, that I feel if we were to learn through it more about our human short comings in regards to war and our sense of territorial importance, and in turn take advantage of its minute scale in world history to produce innovative healing solutions for a permanent outcome, I think many of us could become pioneers in new world prescriptions for ending wars crisis and confrontations in the world.
    What disappoints me about this issue in particular, is that it has been restricted by the British to be the only field of dialogue between these two countries in a post war situation, where usually anywhere else in history, when two countries attempt to patch up and recuperate from a “war encounter”, they normally find many other aspects of dialogue that are considered as important if not more, in need of reconstruction.

    Well..., well..., well...

    Seeing that them Anglo Turnips have nothing to say..., I'll answer..., to the best of my knowledge..., the first contentious point of this personal opinion piece by Mr. John Fowler...:

    He says...:
    ***“ What was not mentioned, oddly enough, was that the 25,000 or so anti-personnel and ant-tank mines destroyed in the Falklands, were laid by Argentina forces in 1982, a year about which they obviously have only very patchy recall. ”***

    I say...:
    I Think it is Mr. John Fowler that has a “very patchy recall”...
    I refer to page number 9 of the Joint UK-Argentina ”FIELD SURVEY TO EXAMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF CLEARING LANDMINES IN THE FALKLAND ISLANDS (ISLAS MALVINAS)“ cranfield University, 9 July 2007 where it says...:
    8MSP-Item 10-18Nov2007-Cranfield-IV-en.pdf
    ***” THE ARGENTINE GOVERNMENT has REPORTED to the United Nations THAT SOME 20,000 anti-personnel MINES and 5,000 anti-vehicle MINES were LAID BY ITS ARMED FORCES during the conflict which took place on the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) in 1982. Most were laid on the approaches to Port Stanley, but others were laid in and around the settlements of Goose Green, Fox Bay and Port Howard, and in the coves of the Murrell Peninsula.”***

    @ Dirk Dikkler Shrinkbrai - who for unknown reasons calld himself THINK - is unable to do exactly that, he just blabbers.

    Who cares what a mental case and red fascist like Adriana Castelanelli says or writes?

    On an other note:

    When the discussion is about the Falkland Islanders' right to self-determination, this is of interest:
    ”Recognizing that all available options for self-determination of the Territories are valid as long as they are in accordance with the freely expressed wishes of the peoples concerned and in conformity with the clearly defined principles contained in General Assembly resolutions 1514 (XV) of 14 December 1960, 1541 (XV) of 15 December 1960 and other resolutions of the Assembly, ... Recognizing that the specific characteristics and the aspirations of the peoples of the Territories require flexible, practical and innovative approaches to the options of self-determination, without any prejudice to territorial size, geographical location, size of population or natural resources, ... Convinced that the wishes and aspirations of the peoples of the Territories should continue to guide the development of their future political status and that referendums, free and fair elections and other forms of popular consultation play an important role in ascertaining the wishes and aspirations of the people, ... 1. Reaffirms the inalienable right of the peoples of the Territories to self-determination, in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and with General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples;
    2. Also reaffirms that, in the process of decolonization, there is no alternative to the principle of self-determination, which is also a fundamental human right, as recognized under the relevant human rights conventions;“

    After the above Anglo Turnip break..., I will now answer..., to the best of my knowledge..., the second contentious point of this personal opinion piece by Mr. John Fowler...:

    He says...:
    1) ***“... Adriana Castelanelli ASSERTS that Cardozo was ordered by Margaret Thatcher to deliberately hide the identity of the dead soldiers...”***
    2) ***“... Adriana Castelanelli SEEMS TO BELIEVE that the Argentine combatants hastily retreating from various mountain battlefields had taken the time to bury their fallen comrades...”***
    3) ***“... Adriana Castelanelli NO DOUBT BELIEVES they would have been supervised by their officers, despite the fact that many were conspicuous by their absence...”***

    I say...:
    1) Adriana Castelanelli DOES NOT ASSERT such thing in her article... (read link below)

    ”Bolivar’s most famous quote is from 1830, regarding ‘Latin’ America, as he surveyed the wreckage of his dream. As self-assessments go, it is not very positive:
    ‘I have ruled for 20 years and from these I have gained only a few certainties:
    [Latin] America is ungovernable, for us;
    Those who serve a revolution plough the sea;
    The only thing one can do in [Latin] America is emigrate;
    This country will fall inevitably into the hands of the unbridled masses and then pass almost imperceptibly into the hands of petty tyrants, of all colors and races;
    Once we have been devoured by every crime and extinguished by utter ferocity, the Europeans will not even regard us as worth conquering;
    If it were possible for any part of the world to revert to primitive chaos, it would be [Latin] America in its final hour.’

     How many times do we have to watch this movie? How many times does the movie end differently? Argentina, a marvelous nation, serves a great purpose - whenever you think your country has gone to hell, Argentina is there to remind you that you're dead wrong! I just watched a “La Campora” meeting on-line. It was worse than I expected. The upside is that now I know how gatherings of the “Hitler jugend” must have been like.

    After the above boooooring Anglo Turnip break using the all to trited “Hitler Card”..., I will now answer..., to the best of my knowledge, the third contentious point of this personal opinion piece by Mr. John Fowler...:

    He says...:
    1) ***“ After years of difficulty and delay during the years of the Kirchner government”***
    2) ***“ Castelanelli does, however, demonstrate her own skill as a weaver of unsubstantiated myth, when she further attests that far from being moved solely by humanitarian considerations Julio Aro was in the pay of the British Government. In the paper published by Agenda Malvinas she claims that his ” No me Olvides“ foundation received funds from a fund set up by Cardozo, which, in turn, was funded by the UK Government.”***
    3) ***“ Why could the Kirchner Government not provide a list of these dead heroes? ”
    4) ***“ Why, when some families were found in the further reaches of Argentina, were they still unaware even that their sons had been sent to war, never mind that they were missing?”***

    I say...:
    1) It was the Kirchner government that started the whole process of “IDENTIFICATION OF THE PRECISE FINAL RESTING PLACE OF 122 ”NO NAME“ARGENTINEANS BURIED AT THE WAR CEMETERY NEAR DARWIN, ISLAS MALVINAS” around 2010 by sampling DNA from all the soldiers families and contacting the ICRC to organize and smoothen all the difficult practicalities one encounters in a territorial sovereignity conflict area.
    https://www.icrc.org/en/document/malvinas-falkland-islands-giving-dead-back-their-names
    2) Sr. Aro does not make a secret of the fact that he has.., during the years.., recieved some modest economic and practical help for his humanitarian quest from different Engrish sources.., including the FIA.
    Not strange that this little detail raises some nationalist eyebrows and is used to critizise his excellent work.

    (Perhaps your threat of an additional diatribe was just a typical Argentine bluff.)

    By the way — as you seem to be so prejudiced against the Swedes refusing to lockdown their society due to COVID19 — you may find reading the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) study “Cost of Lockdowns: A Preliminary Report.”

    https://www.aier.org/article/cost-of-us-lockdowns-a-preliminary-report/

    The report makes for grim reading. Every negative metric is up, with most having increased by dramatic amounts: mental health problems, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, anxiety, demands on food banks, extreme poverty, food insecurity, undernourishment, unemployment, decreased life expectancy, fatal cancer, missed cancer diagnoses, cardiovascular deaths, murder, property theft, failed businesses, and more.

    Although there are now several proven vaccinations now becoming available for public use — you still remain exceedingly furious with the Swedish strategy of achieving herd immunity.

    Also, any comments about Venezuela's Dominion software?

    Oh what do I really comprehend anyway? All of these contradictory information notices now being emitted is impossible for my inferior intellect to absorb.

    The Cato Institute has a very interesting perspective of what some are alleging...

    Others worry about a loss of freedom of expression — and frankly I'm personally reminded of both Orwell's '1984' and 'Animal Farm' — but as you know, I never attended a university.

    A fellow avocado grower in California — posted this evening that he was inclined to declare his Thanksgiving gathering as a funeral — as you are limited to only 7 persons for a holiday — where as a burial you are allowed 30.

    Meanwhile there are claims that Venezulana designed software was used in the recent election in the USA.

    Personally, I have a great esteem for the industrious Venezulanos as I'm fortunately assisted by three on the farm.

    They are hardworking, very clever and know how to manipulate the government regulations.

    An old joke among Latin Americans goes like this: when God made the world, He was a tad careless in allocating resources around the patches of land. Then, at the time of allocating humans to these patches, people complained. They argued that whoever landed in the territory that would eventually become Argentina would be so blessed that nobody could compete with them. Visibly embarrassed, God looked for a quick fix (perhaps he is also Argentinean, as the locals believe). And he put the Argentineans there.

    As I've earlier said — I already have covered my wagers — however there's now strong evidence that the USA has had massive voter fraud.

    We will see this coming two weeks what is revealed — but Dominion software seems to be at the center of attention.

    I feel a sense of irony as our North American busybodies have incessantly lectured us since I can recollect about free and open elections.

    ¡Saludos!

    Hermanito..., really now...!

    Aren't you a bit tired of repeating all those “Fox News” of yours...?

    What about giving us some “Good Evidence” about this “Dominion Conspiracy”...?

    Just a bit, a teeny-weeny bit of “Good Evidence” about this “Dominion Conspiracy”, pleeease...?

    My video of the Young Turks featured “Real, Official, Documented News” about the dismissal of your beloved Sydney Powell by the Trump Team... + featured the extreme aesthetically pleasing Francesca Fiorentini... ;-)

    Is verified fake news as you have been shown, so now your just little old liar.
    ”Scytl stated that “the US army has not seized anything from Scytl in Barcelona, Frankfurt or anywhere else” and that “technologies implemented by Scytl in the US are both hosted and managed within the US, by a local subsidiary, SOE Software, based in Tampa, Florida.” It also said the company does not “have servers or offices in Frankfurt” or “tabulate, tally or count votes in the US.”
    A spokesperson for the U.S. Army confirmed in an email that it “did not conduct any sort of raid in Germany nor did we acquire any servers with election data.”

    I left a very comfortable bed early before sunrise to get this barn workshop 98% finished today.

    No time for searching for the latest news about the elections scandal right now — but it should be entertaining!

    I do indeed find Francesca Fiorentini very pleasing as I've always been bewitched of intelligent attractive women.

    I would counter submit Candace Owens as a very suitable alternative for your sophisticated intellect.

    My primary concern today is to focus finishing this gift for my bedmate and return early this afternoon to dine on oysters and champeoise with the same attractive intelligent, articulate and thoroughly bewitching enchantress — at our favorite Chicureo lakeside seafood restaurant.

    I humbly submit video of our community reflecting upon the ENOURMOS lake that dominates our cuico enclave.

    https://youtu.be/i2D-TKITMnI

    As you once mentioned, Chicureo is the ground zero of cuicos...

    And before you ask — the stables shown are a part of our club where Madam and our family women are avid equestrians.

    It keeps them busy and distracted from terrorizing my son, son-in-law and myself as women are NEVER fully satisfied.

    You can understand what I imply...

    ¡Salud!

    Obviously someone else is reading this thread because they have shown disapproval of your recent comments. (Surprising not for Güeón.)

    In any case, soon we'll be picking up our youngest daughter flying to our local airfield from Panguipulli with her love interest and we'll depart for the farm were we are gathered for an extended family celebration tomorrow of Madame's new (19th century) barn. I'm patiently waiting for the arrival of our youngest child and her love interest here at our local airfield. (You may find it interesting that it is the very exact landing field that was used by the famed aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.)

    Madame DeFarge plans to begin a weekend of interrogations of the poor young gentleman as I'll just enjoy the spectacle.

    He's already passed with colors my low standards — but the pitiful suitor is attempting to steal Madame's precious baby...

    In any case, I'll be intensely busy — so please don't be slighted if I do not respond promptly to your proximate brilliant missives about American politics, climate change and the imbecilic statements of some of your countrymen...

    By the way, ma mariée — (when she truly was a young bride) and I climbed the realitively mild track to the height of Aconcagua on two memorable occasions. (...and yes — I know what country it's located.)
