The UK will be EU- minded by evolution, as trade and culture, as always, includes the inescapable sociali mors and nuances, although Bexiteers will not believe this. It will take a long time but it will slowly occur.
You are right about one thing, Brexiteers don’t believe that.
The opposite will happen, as the UK becomes more global facing rather than navel gazing in the EU, Europe will figure less and less in our thinking.
Connections/interactions/cross fertilisations will still be there of course, but not like they were when we were in the EU, or like they would have been had we stayed in.
As Churchill said “We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not compromised. We are interested and associated but not absorbed.”

Yes, Churchill completely was spot on and I agree the UK has now opened itself open for a far superior position. The Germans and French (and especially many of the UK conservative politicians) misjudged that the majority wanted to achieve independence.
Personally I can emphasize the insanity of merging two distinct cultures as I studied at a British Chilean school and my bride unfortunately graduated from the Santiago Lycée Français.
From an Anglophile point of view — sharing a bed with a Francophile has been insane, but exceptionally difficult to endure at times — if not completely insane.
