Huge propaganda stunt .an insult to islanders who continue to suffer the Argentine harassment.
Looks like Britain supports that Argentine ideal.
Even says that he wants to be buried in the war grave. I dont think so.

He doesn't even know the name of his own cemetery! Its the Argentine Military Cemetery and it is not in Darwin. Darwin Cemetery is something else entirely. And as for being given an OBE? A downright insult.

I'm told that the Argentine Military Cemetery is at Fish Creek, not Darwin which has its own cemetery. Long overdue for all the residents to be returned to Argentina as the current arrangement only acts as a propaganda site for visiting Argies.

An OBE for Eduardo Eurnekian is madness. Kent proved far too damned soft with the Argies. Too much of a populist. It is to be hoped that Kent's successor is less naive.

an obe is awarded by hm the queen on behalf of her government. not within fig's power to intervene. hmg has the responsiblity for foreign affairs (as well as defence) for fi. fi has its own merit awards. most unlikely that fig will bestow one on any argie but it could if it wanted to.

The issue is two fold. The islanders are annoyed at the fact he got an award for spending some of his money on a war grave that never should have happened but more importantly angry at the fact he also wants to be buried in that same war grave. That would be a direct insult to every islander. To know that many brave soldiers in the British forces went far and beyond their course of duty and never got any mention as did many Islanders. The uk decided this award and will likely put pressure on the islanders to accept this mans wish.
All because Mark Kent sucked up to the Argentines.
If Mark Kent had his way he would trade the islands away to keep his Argentine friends sweet.
