Desperate people will do desperate things. Argentina is bleeding from mortal economical failures and is clutching at straws to survive. Their mental attitude is such that they believe that potential drilling of oil around the Falklands that they think will save their desperate failing economy.

I hardly think so but because of the child like mentality towards the people of The Falkland islands anything is possible coming out of the Country.
What we do have to counter any such a ban on oil production is that twice monthly air link. We could and should place a direct embargo on any flights to and from Argentina.
We now know from the pandemic that no air link with south America has stopped our own economy forging ahead. We have had to do things in a differant way.
We also know that we do not have to rely on Argentine airspace to go to other latin American countries.
We in effect hold all the cards to get around everything Argentina has tried to place embargoes on.
A sad people bringing mass poverty on their people. Failing to get their economy back on track and never likely to honour their huge international debt repayments.
They are their own worst enemy.

Brit Bob, UNCLOS does not talk about Malvinas or colonialism nor self-determination. The british, as always, took general parameters of the UN to propose as appplying to the Malvinas. But no, the 40 resolutions of the UN that clearly talks about Malvinas Islands only talks about their colonial situation, the sovereignty dispute with Argentina and the need to negotiate sovereignty.

You forgot that the first time the british set one foot on the eastern of the two biggest islands in Malvinas was in 1833 (when they invaded). They do not even controlled the western of the islands or its maritimate sea. Even more, until 1982, regular argentine ships controlled the whole seas around the islands.
So the argentine claim did not changed a bit since 1833. At the contrary of the british, that tried everything since 1833: discovery, conquest, adquiescence and now self-determination trying to legitimate their colonial administration of argentine territory.

In 1833 Argentina was asked to leave without a single shot being fired. Your lot left peacefully because you knew that your attempt to squat on someone else's property was rumbled.

The air visibility is incredibly clear and you can easily see the entire city of Santiago below us. Presently our gypsy pied-á-terre is at 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) altitude.
Our breakfast is our California avocado omelet recipe along with freshly squeezed tangerine Veuve Clicquot mimosas. I’m also enjoyed a large mug of delicious Baileys coffee — which is considered an evil DOUBLE SIN in Terence’s religion!
Due to popular family demand, today’s planned le déjeuner is again delicious ham and cheese croque monsieur sandwiches for dipping in egg batter and to be fried in butter (known as the Monte Cristo) served with our own farm nectarine jam.
This evening’s fare was prepared in advance at the farmhouse and frozen — (now ready to go in the oven)— which is a boeuf en croute (the Occitan version to Beef Wellington) made with a whole beef tenderloin, wrapped in pastry dough along with foie gras, thinly sliced cured ham, and a paste made of chopped Shiitake mushrooms.

Argentine laws are of course not enforceable in the Falkland Islands or in Falklands territorial waters. Because there are no Argentine police, no Argentine prosecutors, no Argentine lawyers, no Argentine courts, no Argentine prisons, no Argentine anything on the islands. So what could they do? It’s very amusing to watch him testifying in court his lawsuit against a transvestite who clearly catfished him — but unfortunately Terence embarrassingly lost the case as he did not use a lawyer. It’s even more amusing that poor Terence has difficulty keeping up with being exposed!

Since you feel you have free range to falsely disparage my reputation with legal issues, that apparently concern only your muse. Then I have a right, to defend myself with showing real legal problems that you have asked about. That I have solved, and show that unlike you, I'm not stupid.
Another legal issue I was able to refute was when my Aunt died, and she had a friend staying with her. The friend had plenty of money, but insisted my Aunt had bequeathed her property too her orally. My sister was the executor, and my Aunt's lawyer told my sister the issue would have to be settled in court. I had all the pertinent legal bases available to me, and checked.
The leading case law for that jurisdiction, as I suspected, said the only wills that were recognised, were 'written'. I sent her the two leading cases electronically, and told her to get the lawyer to issue the 'friend' an 'eviction notice'.
Told my sister not to do anything for this 'friend' as if she died, it could be ruled that my sister had assumed a 'duty of care', and she could be charged with manslaughter as a result of any apparent negligence. The friend left, and the estate was settled.
So in this case, I knew the law better, than the lawyer who practised in that jurisdiction.
To any MP readers coming across this article — I personally have no true understanding of medicine, accounting and the law — yet it’s clearly obvious not obtaining the best advice available is always unwise.
