Chile eliminates five-day quarantine for travelers arriving to Punta Arenas by air
Given the favourable results that the Magallanes Region, extreme south of Chile is showing in its battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, Chilean authorities have decided to lessen the restrictions both for incoming domestic and international travellers arriving at Punta Arenas airport.

World food prices rose 1,2% in September and 32,8% year to year, FAO
World food commodity prices rose in September, led by tightening supply conditions and robust demand for staples such as wheat and palm oil, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported. FAO's Food Price Index averaged 130.0 points in September, up 1.2% from August and 32.8% higher than in September 2020. The index tracks monthly changes in the international prices of commonly traded food commodities.

Uruguay off UK's Red List, but surprising FCDO comment on the country's Covid-19 situation
From 4 am on Monday 11 October, Uruguay will no longer be on the Red List for entering England. As to UK citizens planning to travel to Uruguay, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advise against all but essential travel to the whole of Uruguay based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.
