Last week the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust announced the resumption of the search for Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance which lies in deep water beneath the ice of the Weddell Sea. A hundred years after his death Shackleton is still big news and media outlets around the world were quick to pick up on the story. Read full article

Crikey - even with NatGeo or Discovery Channel sponsorship, that sounds like a mightily expensive expedition - a research ship, two helicopters, AUVs, 60 people, Dan Snow and entourage in tow......and they can't even bring back any souvenirs?
I wonder what the whole budget amounts to?
