Disclaimer & comment rulesIt is quite odd that Argentina (or some of their politicians) say that BFSAI is a threat to them, (sometimes even to the whole continent). Do they really believe that, or is it just hot air to satisfy malvinist sentiments. On the contrary it is a stabilizing factor in the region.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 11:46 am - Link - Report abuse +3Defence is necessary. The Falklands have an aggressive neighbour.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 12:02 pm - Link - Report abuse +4Buenos Aires invaded in 1832.
Argentina invaded in 1982.
They are just daft enough to go for the hat trick
What a crock of bullshit! People are such unbelievable stone faced liars sometimes! There is absolutely ZERO need for a 1000 soldier aggressively armed military base, just like there was ZERO need for it before a military dictatorship usurped our country with Britain and America's blessings, who later reciprocally betrayed one another like rats, but where Britain knew it would come out on top after having used the Generals to take over the islands and grab them all the way, not before encouraging them to first genocidally kill thousands of innocent Argentinians, to be followed by the killing of hundreds of innocent Argentinian soldiers. That base costs the UK unnecessarily tons of money, and yet all they need it for is to keep the islanders fearfully patriotic and obedient to London, and to push Argentina's buttons while manipulating the narrative of the sovereignty dispute.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 12:20 pm - Link - Report abuse -7There's less than a 100 soldiers most of the rest are maintenance people for the aircraft and the support staff necessary for the base and radar etc etc.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 01:04 pm - Link - Report abuse +4If the base wasn’t there Argentina would just waltz right in.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 01:45 pm - Link - Report abuse +4It is actually none of Argentina’s business what we do in the British Territories of the S. Atlantic, they can like it or lump it, it matters not to us.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 03:47 pm - Link - Report abuse +2Also Argentina has just finished ‘celebrating’ their invasion 40 years ago, replete with a re-enactment of their landings and paying homage to their invaders.
No remorse there then.
Then considering about half of the territory of the ‘bi-continental’ country of Argentina, is actually British territory and long established British territory, a fact they either don’t know or just ignore.
It can be no great surprise to even the most retarded MalviNazi that to the British they are a ‘potential enemy’ and military deployments made accordingly.
Anyway they need to get used to it, as the Islands are perfect for combined services exercises and at times the deployment will be much larger.
Not to mention Argentinian plans to increase their military deployments in Argy occupied Wallmapu.

A direct threat to the British territories in the S. Atlantic, which will require a similar response from the British military.
And they need to be constantly reminded that their dreams of a S. Atlantic/Antarctic empire are just that, dreams.
So they don’t get any more silly ideas like in 1832 and 1982.
His name is Lett not Left! L-E-T-T. He was never a Major either.
Apr 06th, 2022 - 06:22 pm - Link - Report abuse +1As long Argentina has not apologized for the 1982 invasion, not paid reparations for damage, not shows any remorse, have not concluded any peace agreements with the U.K, celebrate April 2, have the Malvinas in their constitution, indoctrinates its children with malivinism &c, &c the F.I. must have a strong defence. Argentina can not be trusted. Even if they say that they want peaceful solution (which means a take-over without war) that can change rapidly. Generations of Argentines have been brought up with Malvinas son Argentinas around them. They need a demalvinization process, like the denazification in Germany after 1945. Unfortunately it will not happen in the near future.

Apr 06th, 2022 - 10:06 pm - Link - Report abuse +2Fair play, that is the funniest most ridiculous paragraph I have ever read, it proves you are on the wind up...Brilliant.
In Trimondes world, Britain somehow in 1982 encouraged the Argentine Junta to murder thousands of Argentines, and then tricked them into invading the Falklands, so that Britain could retake them with the loss of 250 lives.
Staggering the depths Trimondes fantasies will go.
Trimonde is endless entertainment. He has no idea what he's talking about and it is always worth a laugh! The budget for MPC is less than 0.7% of the defence budget. They see the islands as a very large training area. Low-flying and live ammunition...
Apr 07th, 2022 - 08:25 am - Link - Report abuse +2As for aggressively armed? I fail to see how a bunch of defence systems can be construed as aggressive. Re-enacting an invasion and endlessly stating the lies you do is aggressive. Endless telling us you will return is aggressive. Failing to allow humanitarian flights into Uruguay and Chile is aggressive. And piracy on the open seas is aggressive.
The junta and the genocide is all on you and your sheep Trimonde. Don't try blaming anyone else for the failings of your junta and the war.
