Falklands War: MPs demand inquiry on Exocet “kill switch”; how transparent was France?
British lawmakers have demanded an inquiry into whether France was dishonest about the existence of a “kill switch” in missiles used by Argentina in attacks that killed British sailors during the Falklands War, with the sinking of several vessels, the first of which was Type 42 HMS Sheffield. No good going out in the rain without a coat.
The UK at that time was simply responding to Argentine illegal aggression. Using the well-known declaration of Teddy Roosevelt. “Speak softly, and carry a big stick.”
