Last week saw the first face-to-face AGM of the Falkland Islands Association since the pandemic began in 2020. It was held at the Abbey Centre in Westminster. About fifty members were present in person. But another fifty took part - some of them from the Falklands – via Zoom. This was a major improvement on earlier AGMs when decisions could be taken only by those actually present. All future AGMs will be done this way. Read full article

The usual elite gathering to project the UK's waning 'military might' - the sooner this generation of toffs passes away, the better.

Jesus Christ, Get real for god sake lol

Hypersonic missiles when will the UK have them ?
The USA is still trying to develop them never mind the recent successful launch of an air launched hypersonic
missle, it will take several years to prove them and put them into production, never mind ground based or underwater launch.

Aircraft Carriers also known as HMS Sitting Duck, these are ships of the past

Its also common knowledge that you can fit the UK combat armed forces of the Army, Airforce and Navy combined into a football stadium
    Get real !!
What generation of fighter planes built by the UK are you refering to ?
Dear God what planet do you live on ?

Shogun, you are clueless, just like you were about Russia/Ukraine history. before you spout any more nonsense i suggest you do some research, first of all the armed forces of the UK are about 200,00O and that is going to increase in the future , what stadium holds that many, second research the next generation British fighter plane not the ones in use now, future ships and missile systems in the pipeline are hi tech, so dear god, get rid of the blinkers you are waring, put your hatred to one side and live in the real world,

The total size of the full-time UK Armed Forces is just under 159,000.

According to a briefing paper, most personnel were within the Army (56%) with the remainder being equally split between the Royal Navy/Royal Marines (RN/RM) and the Royal Air Force (RAF).
    Look it up !
Of these 159,000 personnel they include Logistics, Maintenance Lorry divers, Cooks Engineers and Medics etc. etc

I was talking about actual combat personnel ( the ones who do the fighting )

As I said you can fit all of the actual combat personnel into a football stadium
Wishful thinking that its going to increase by any significant amount.

As regards the “ British ” next generation fighter aircraft
Are you refering to the Tempest
This is still a concept and under R&D
According to the MOD it could be under construction by the mid 2030's and that is a BIG could

I don't wear blinkers or do I have any hatred ( stinks of projection )
But I do face facts and real world reality
    End of discussion

Back tracking their slightly arent you shogun, the Tempest will happen, as will much much more high tech equipment which is also well under development, so the reality is Britain will remain a strong power and punch above its weight for as long as military forces are needed, oh and by the way if aircraft carriers are sitting ducks why is China desperate to build them and why is Russia desperate to get its own heap of junk back in to service, you are right about 1 thing and one thing only and that is (its the end of discussion)
