At least seven people have been killed in one week in the Brazilian state of São Paulo due to heavy rains, Agencia Brasil reported Friday. Five of the victims belonged to the same family in the city of Araraquara.

Buffalo was the epicenter of a major deadly freezing storm that swept across the United States and Canada killing some sixty people of which 37 in Eire County, according to official Mark Poloncarz.

YPF to build lithium batteries in Catamarca

Argentina's state-run Y-TEC YPF plans to install a lithium battery manufacturing plant in the province of Catamarca, according to a deal signed this week between Governor Raúl Jalil and YPF's President Pablo González, it was announced. Also signing the document was Y-TEC (YPF's technological institute) Chief Roberto Salvarezza.
