The Falkland Islands Question was not absent from the long joint cooperation declaration signed in Buenos Aires by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his host Alberto Fernandez, as pointed out in Article 81. The two leaders met in the Argentine capital in the context of the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), starting Monday. Read full article

Wonder if the usual Brainwashed Anglo Turnips that used to comment in here are too occupied posting on other platforms..., celebrating their newly won Brexit liberties..., their idol Andrew Tate..., or their military successes in Ukraine...?
Chuckle..., chuckle...
Even the most obtanaintely staunch nationalistic fanatics, eventually get worn down by the build up that grows out of their antagonistic sourness always contemptuously putting down others @Tænk

An inconvenient truth.
Steve Potts. The world is what we want to make of it. WHAT -- WE -- WANT AND SEEK -- TO MAKE OF IT. ........... And in doing so, we define the quality of human beings we want to become, or ARE.
Jan 24th, 2023 - 01:07 pm - Link - Report abuse -4And you, are set on defining yourself very intently it seems. You believe the world must serve your countries interests, diminish the rest, respect and honor less the rest, because it is all about you, and your wanting to have and do to others. - YOUR WANTING TO HAVE AND TO DO OTHERS.
............................................. a relic mind set of past empires who only want to grab as much of the world as possible, making the rest of us irrelevant. You may die some time soon in the future, but your country has too many like you, which begs the question: Is perhaps not the world in need of the Anglo North American English culture being extinguished, as it is holding us all back from becoming one?
Tell me Trimonde....which relic of a past Empire is trying to land grab some islands they have never owned against the wishes of the inhabitants.
Jan 24th, 2023 - 01:42 pm - Link - Report abuse +5Which relic of a past Empire happily and peacefully disbanded its Empire and handed 1/4 of the landmass of the world to its inhibitants?
Your argument is so pathetic, so uneducated, and so lacking in honor as to be farcical.
Then perhaps thats just you Trimonde.

Jan 24th, 2023 - 02:11 pm - Link - Report abuse -2Brainwashed Anglo Turnip above asks...:
- Which relic of a past Empire happily and peacefully disbanded its Empire and handed 1/4 of the landmass of the world to its inhibitants?
First grader Tænk..., frantically raises his hand and is granted the right to answer...:
- That would be the Brutish Empire..., that after WW2..., had all its orifices soo filled with their American first-cousins dicks... that they happily disbanded its Empire and handed 1/4 of the landmass of the World to them Fawlty-Coloured...
Ain't it right..., Miss..., ain't it...?
Chuckle..., chuckle...

Jan 24th, 2023 - 04:20 pm - Link - Report abuse +3The joke is in the headline, ''Lula promises continued support for Argentina's claim over the Falkland Islands''
What claim? Because a claim without ''anything'' to take to court can only be described as illegitimate and worthless.
When a country uses its military and economic power to dismiss those that have no means to strongly persuade an issue, in order to avoid accountability dialogue and justice @Steve Potts, it becomes a human matter. A human matter of respect and honor among the world's nations. And your country is amply exhibiting its true character and nature in this, not just with Argentina, but with other countries such as Russia, China and others.
Jan 24th, 2023 - 11:17 pm - Link - Report abuse -3These so called international institutions of arbitration you attempt to shore your true intentions with, were created by English speaking countries, they are the toys with which to influence and steer the world, mastering their well built logic of values astutely used to focus on the issues as they work for your country's purposes and aims, and where other countries have to go along with them, even if the natural and true explanation of their grievance does not fit their format, they must use their protocols and paths, on the other side of which the click of ex empires and new empires await their expected results.
Your country and the United States, are this era's oppressors and invasive war mongrels, in a more modern version of the world. Your country simply takes a more low profile approach and lets the big bully fling around its muscles and bombs, but make no mistake about it, no one is under the false impression your country is not there also sitting and waiting to reap the goods.
And you .... have been very well trained to think and schooled to believe and see the world through your oppressive country's eyes, so righteously convinced of your smart prowess to construct your very deserving god and king bequeathed gains.
Continued support?
Jan 25th, 2023 - 12:40 am - Link - Report abuse +2Question is, did LuLu promise to stop the military flights?
Support is, as support does
In reply and to clarify the statement These so called “international institutions of arbitration” you attempt to shore your true intentions with, were created by English speaking countries it was founded by the united nations, mostly not european and only one of the current12 judges speaks English! ,These 2 presidents have just said they want to respect the independence of the judiciary but they wont respect the 12 judges of the international court, 9 of which are from non european countries, one is from Brazil. They prefer to tell lies about sovereignty claims than tell the truth to the international court

Jan 25th, 2023 - 10:01 am - Link - Report abuse +2As you have said, 'accountability dialogue and justice' This can only be done via the International Courts of Justice and as I have already pointed out a claim without ''anything'' to take to court can only be described as illegitimate and worthless.

Problem is dear Trimonde it was Argentina that used its economic and military power against 2500 islanders. The islanders had no means to strongly persuade the issue so they asked for help.
Jan 26th, 2023 - 09:04 am - Link - Report abuse +2The Argentine bully was thrown off the islands.
Argentina has no claim to the Falklands, not because of some Anglo conspiracy, but because the people who live there don't want to be Argentine.
Argentina has no claim on Jamaica, Madagascar or the Isle of Wight for the same reason.
Convince the population of any island to join you, and they can
