Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko Friday called for a truce in Ukraine “without preconditions” during which time neither Moscow nor Kyiv would be allowed to regroup troops or move equipment.

”We have to stop now before escalation starts. I risk suggesting the cessation of hostilities (....) to declare a truce,“ Lukashenko told his country's parliament.

”All territorial, reconstruction, security, and other issues should and can be resolved at the negotiating table, without preconditions,“ he added.

He also warned that if the West tries to use this truce for its own purposes, Russia would use its full military potential.

Lukashenko warned that he fears nuclear war because of Western support for Kyiv. ”As a result of the efforts of the United States and its satellites, an all-out war has been unleashed“ in Ukraine, implying that ”a third world war with nuclear fires lurks on the horizon,“ he said in an annual address to the nation. ”You all understand and know that there is only one solution: negotiations! Negotiations without preconditions,“ he insisted.

Lukashenko also assured that the deployment of Russian forces and nuclear weapons in his country was under his control. ”Let no one be concerned at the idea that Russia has occupied anything here. All these Russian units are being trained by 500 Belarusian officers,“ Lukashenko stressed. ”We cannot go around scaring people by saying that Vladimir Putin has captured Belarus,“ he added. ”We control the troops that are on our territory and they are here to train and learn how we can work together if the day comes when -God forbid- we have to,“ Lukashenko explained.

”If necessary, Putin and I will also bring strategic nuclear weapons here. And that foreign scum, who are now trying to blow us up inside and out, have to understand that. We will stop at nothing in defense of our countries, our states, and our peoples,“ he went on.

Lukashenko also underlined that the ”massacre“ in Ukraine will not stop until ”the transoceanic owner (the United States) gives the go-ahead.“ He also insisted that Ukraine is incapable of defeating Russia because ”it is impossible to defeat a nuclear power.”

Lukashenko also said the world was witnessing “the destruction of Europe” as Western nations are turning into US satellites. Only uniting with Moscow could stop that, he suggested. “The policy of the European Union, both foreign and domestic, has become totally subordinated to US interests,” Lukashenko said, as he accused European leaders of lacking the political will to make their nations truly independent. Washington is also using the ongoing conflict in Ukraine to “stall” Europe, the Belarusian president warned. “Europe can survive only together with us, primarily with Russia,” he told the lawmakers. “If Russia and Europe unite, it will be a powerhouse no one can beat.”

Lukashenko's statements came after Moscow dubbed the US “anti-Russian policy” a major threat to international peace. Moscow also maintained it did not consider Western nations to be adversaries and was ready for dialogue.
