By Mordechai Taji – Argentina's authorities are losing grip of the economy as the “blue” (a euphemism for “black market”) dollar hit AR$ 497 Tuesday before recoiling to AR$ 487, then bouncing back to AR$ 490, down again to AR$ 487 and back up once more to AR$ 495 amid growing unrest. ‘losing grip’, that happened some time ago.

‘the transformation of exports into yuan’, dancing with the Devil there.

‘impact of the drought’, which is only going to get worse.

And to top it all, CFK could be back in the Pink House early, simply marvellous.

The failure of Peronism is excellent news, it will be the end of that political model of populism... and the beginning of the foundations for the growth of center-right governments... We are standing under an ocean of oil and precious metals.
We will fully strengthen our ties with China, a great commercial ally.

    A “commercial” ally?

When the Chinese do something in another country they want their own laborers. The Chinese are used to much greater productivity in their workers and can't tolerate the much lower performance of local workers. This is because China, and North Korea also, are just labor concentration camps.

Any place that is able to be flooded with Chinese laborers becomes dominated by them. Only the local elites stay in place, the remainder of the existing population becomes 2nd class. Only the local elite are made wealthy.

I don't get the impression Argentines are all that interested in working. A few Chinese workers would out perform them in a day. And then there are a billion more where those came from. Meanwhile the elitist Peronists will take kickbacks to keep their position in society. You won't hear a peep out of them about, “making sure the people live well”.

On another note, President Fernandez' comments that he, “never worked against the Argentine people”. Kind of says it all.

No, he never tightened the bread basket. Same as, “print more money instead”.

    This equals inflation.

If he were to, “work against the people”, that is also called, “austerity”.

No people in any western democracy accept austerity. And if it is practiced, whatever political faction is in the opposition cries bloody murder, and takes power.

CFK before the last election, when Macri was the incumbent, called him a, “catastrophe”.

So whoever is in power is not able to practice austerity, they just have to find the money for the masses somewhere. By printing or by borrowing. Or both, as it would seem here.

And the powder keg just grows.

@BushPilot China is a thousand-year-old country of peace, which, unlike Western countries, has never invaded or colonized other lands as the Anglo-Saxons have done.
It's not that we don't want to do commercial business with the United States or the United Kingdom... Historically, Argentina has done them...
The English were great investors in our country in the 20th century, from the railways to the export of meat.. You simply lost that market share with China, for putting up trade barriers to get small short-term advantages.
Some examples, Argentina and Brazil are countries with a Positive Carbon balance, in the trade agreements with the European Union they wanted us to open our economies to industrial imports from the bloc, but on the other hand they used the “environmental” excuse to block our agricultural products, despite the fact that we are countries a thousand times more responsible with the environment than they are.

We automatically took mirror measures, and we tariffed American products (mainly electronics) and China occupied that market, now it turns out that the Americans with bidden want to return to the previous agreement. Is it our fault that China wins the markets they lost by trying to take unfair advantage?

China offers 100% financing to build nuclear reactors, dams, trains, and allows you to pay them with the energy produced, etc.

Be realistic, Chinese growth is unstoppable, they will be the world's leading power before 2035, they are more efficient and more productive than any Western country. and the dollar will cease to be the currency of world commercial use.
It is better to be friends with the devil than to be in his way, wear yourself out with china

You're kidding, right? The Argentine economy is a mess, thanks to the current administration and their constant giveaway programs.

It is indeed a very sad state of affairs, and one that will take decades of relatively stable Government to remedy. Bending over and getting rogered by the Chinese may have some short term attractions, but in the long term will not lead to Argentine citizens being better off. It needs to work with the Americans, the Europeans, the Chinese and Japan to create a solid economy based on manufacture and trade, and less at the mercy of incompetent and corrupt politicians. It is a very big task, which will take some big players to stand up and be counted. Moderate Government for the benefit of the people, not extreme Government for the benefit of the politicians.

    Argy Planter
What Planet do you live on???

Argentina has had everything needed to be a world powerhouse for at least the last hundred years, but it has never happened and what makes you think it will happen now???

    The Chinese???

They are going to rob you blind, just look at Africa.

China is a two thousand year old Empire of conquest and annexation, of the most brutal kind.

Currently looting Tibet, brutalizing the Uighur population, military occupation of the S. China sea, threatening to invade democratic and free Taiwan, not even the most basic human rights or democratic freedoms for any of the population and since one country one system has been imposed, Hong Kong has been crushed.

They don’t seem to have moved on from four thousand year old thinking.

    ‘Country of peace’, LMFAO.

You dance with the Devil, you deserve what you get.

    As for Carbon emissions:

    https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-which-countries-are-historically-responsible-for-climate-change/

‘the US has released more than 509GtCO2 since 1850 and is responsible for the largest share of historical emissions, Carbon Brief analysis shows, with some 20% of the global total.’

‘China is a relatively distant second, with 11%, followed by Russia (7%), Brazil (5%) and Indonesia (4%). The latter pair are among the top 10 largest historical emitters, due to CO2 from their land.’

‘Meanwhile, large post-colonial European nations, such as Germany and the UK, account for 4% and 3% of the global total, respectively’.

UK territory in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic is safe, you are absolutely no threat and the way you are going you are not going to be, so please feel free to carry on.

Don’t let anything we say dissuade you, stand your ground and have the courage of your convictions, carry on regardless, that's the spirit. Admirable.

    Wants to emphasize “Anglo-Saxon” invaders.

But China is a peaceful “non-invader”. Har, har, har!

Tibet? Uighur concentration camps? Bhutan? The Phillipines? Vietnam? Malaysia?

    The Anglo-Saxon hating Argentine makes:

    Zero mention of Spanish invader-colonizers.

    Zero mention of Italian invader-colonizers.

    Zero mention of Argentine invaders.

    There are only “Anglo-Saxon” invader-colonizers.

China is wonderful! Says the prejudiced, brainwashed blind man.

I love AC's remark that China “is a country of peace”. He is obviously blind. How many died when Mao came to power? What have they done with Tibet? The wars with Japan? He is delusional. China will just rape South America.
