The first to address the C24 was MLA Gavin Short, who criticized the aggressive attitude of Argentina towards the Falklands and mentioned several actions, which sought to undermine the Islands' economy. We are not asking you to support Russia or NATO, just to support the right of the people of Donbass to choose their own destiny.

Is Donbas listed as a NSGT at the UN?

If not, its rights of self-determination are limited.

Roger Lorton, “Is Donbas listed as a NSGT at the UN?”. With that premise, then, i guess you despise the british intervention in Yugoslavia without any UN aproval right?. Or the change of regime on Iraq invading them and killing more than one millon iraquians in the process of “looking” for weapons of mass destruction. Is British Petroleum looking right now for those weapons? becouse they are still on Iraq pumping oil in the process. Shock and Awe right?.
The Russian invasion was wrong, As wrong as the Ukranian bombing and killing in the Donbass. And more wrongs are those who supports the nazis that made a coup d'etat. Have you investigated the heroes of the Ukrainians?. Hitler must be so proud of you brits.

Liberato, you are being very very silly and naive, this whole Ukraine-Russia war is down to one man and one man only, everything else is deflection, mad vlad ex kgb said on record he does not accept Ukraine is a country, Russia created it and Russia can dissolve it, the so called Nazis in Ukraine numbered around 1,000 and they were dismissed by Zelensky, probably all dead now, Putin interfered in Georgia and Chechnya and Moldova , Ukraine was his big goal for its resources, he used the Russian minority in Ukraine to whip up Russian nationalism, there had been no issues until then, he then later invaded and took over Crimea, just like Hitler did with the German speaking Czech areas, straight out of the book, ,all these ex USSR states know Russia and Putin far better than you do, from actual experience, they have no desire to be ever controlled by Russia/Putin again, no wonder they are desperate to join NATO, take your head out the sand, an autocratic dictator that has robbed billions from the people, using his population as cannon fodder, desperately trying to stay in power, he kills or jails anyone who protests, Belarus is all but been swallowed up already, if he had beaten Moldova was next, the so called intervention in Yugoslavia put an end to genocide, open your eyes and ears and stop talking bollocks, Juan was correct about you when he called you a troll,

Judge Jose, Ukraine is a brother nation of Russia. A large part of Ukrainian people have russian origins, have families living in Russia or are prorussians or speak russian. Does that makes Ukraine Russian? Absolutely not. But there are others Ukrainians that hate everything russian, made a coup d'etat. And mostly the coups are planned with international support. If not for international support, its economy would fall as soon as they appeared.
Putin broke the international law at invading a sovereign nation. Even if there was a “genocide”. Even if Ukraine joined NATO. But here is the thing, Your nations actually invaded Iraq for 10 years killing more than one millon of civilians. Exploiting their natural resources as we speak. Ransacking their gold reserves, etc. Did Russia blocked you all from Swift?. did Russia made an embargo?. Did Russia sent all their militaries to support Iraq against the mad stupid and dumb Bush and Blair?. Was Bush and Blair prosecuted by the International Courts?. Or by any court?. Are the deads of millons of iraquians a mistakes and the killings of Putin an atrocity?.
The nazis in Ukraine are numbered 1000?. Where did you get that number?. And even if they were 100. Are you willing to fight along them?.
You, the british, the argentine or the russians are no better nor worse. There are no bad guys, there are bad politics and bad policies. We are in 2023 and i cant recall how many years of this 21 century passed without war. The american exceptionalism never granted peace or security or economic prosperity. Nothing at all. And if you hate Putin, First hate your leader said nothing about the ukrainian coup d'etat or the bombing of civilians in the Donbass.
A genocide its a genocide, no matter if made by the serbians or the ukrainians.

“ Liberato,” you are clearly a murderous supporter of genocide. Your extensive wall of verbiage merely accentuates the fact that Putin is the real Nazi with his “Z.”

Libby, far too inclined to believe Russian propaganda. There is no evidence of Ukraine 'bombing' Donbass.

As for the right of self-determination up to and including cession, it exists - but only for the UN listed NSGTs.

    Go learn, child.

Liberato, , stop believing the shit you read in newspapers, the Nazi Azov batallion was disbanded long ago, a Jewish president that hates Nazis has been elected to be the Ukraine president, i have said on many occasions that the war on Iraq was wrong but you constantly bleat on about. most British people were against the war, Putin wants to annexe Ukraine , the US and UK didnt want to annexe Iraq, You know nothing about the reality of the Russia/Ukraine. so i suggest you start educating your self and stop commenting on something you know nothing about, better still go talk to the Ukrainians ,zero evidence of Donbass bombings, you talk about war, Putins private army Wagner has been sticking its nose in other countries for years now, Russia not the west murdered thousands in Syria including banned chemical weapons propping up another evil dictator, invaded Chechnya and Georgia, get an education because you are either a Putin enabler, if you are then shame on you, or as said before you nothing about the situation,

Ah the old territorial integrity versus self determination debate...how fun.

    What trumps what?

Take the USA as an example: Could Hawaii or Alaska notionally claim independence or join Japan or Canada respectively, I think most people would say they could, if it was the clear and sustained will of the people who lived there.

Could California choose to join Mexico or Michigan join Canada most people struggle to answer

Could Kansas become independent or part of Morocco, most people would say no.

But why? Why is Scotland different to Catalonia? Why is Crimea different to Donbas?

Why are the Falklands clearly not integral to Argentina or the UK either in 1832 or today?
