The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has granted financing of R$1.3 billion for the export of eleven Embraer E-175 commercial jets to Alaska Airlines, the fifth largest airline in the USA. The funding will cover a portion of Alaska’s investment in the aircraft purchase. Disbursements will be made in Brazilian Reais in Brazil, directly to Embraer.
Argentina is increasing its use of Yuan to pay for imports from China, following the renewal and expansion of a currency swap agreement with Beijing. The use of the Chinese currency in bilateral trade amounted to 1.075 billion Yuan (US$ 150.5 million) in May this year. In the first ten business days of June, transactions worth 2.045 billion yuan ($286.3 million) were recorded, according to the Central Bank of Argentina Argentine Central Bank’s report on June 15.

Last Tuesday 30 May the Falkland Islands ExCo approved an amendment to the Family Allowances Ordinance. According to a study by Brazil's Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Union (Unica) released Monday, electricity generation from sugarcane biomass grew 28.7% in the first four months of 2023, reaching 1,858,699 MWh, which is tantamount to 3% of all the energy in the South American country, Xinhua reported.
