Members of the Falkland Islands Youth Parliament spoke in Legislative Assembly at the end of July, putting forward a motion concerning the mental health of young people in the Falklands, an issue which the Youth Parliament agreed as a group to pursue over the course of a year at the beginning of their tenures.
New figures suggest food United Kingdom price inflation has slowed to its lowest level this year as prices of oils, fish, and breakfast cereals fall. According to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and NielsenIQ retail analysts, food inflation slowed to 13.4% in July. It was 14.6% in June. But overall, shop prices are still 7.6% higher this July than a year ago.
Spire Healthcare has been chosen by the Falkland Islands Government as the UK private provider for Arthroplasty (hips and knees). It was noted at the Health and Medical Services Committee by Director of Health and Social Services Tom Bale in his report that a paper was recently approved by ExCo, for the approach and funding, of outsourced Arthroplasty for qualifying persons, who suffer chronically, with hip and/or knee issues.
