The rights of the Falkland Islanders would be respected should Javier Milei become Argentina's next president, Economist Diana Mondino, reportedly the candidate's pick for the Foreign Ministry, told The Telegraph in an article published during the weekend. Read full article

More wanking off with overly complicated good intentions? (btw Steve Pots, Proliferous Propaganda Producer) Did Britain or China ask the people living in Hong Kong what they thought of a Lease Back agreement??? Oh yes! We know times have changed? Now we have the very effective fictitious lie producing political instrument of the BOT self determination principle, so amazingly successful in fooling the entire world of diplomatic and informations venues, funneled into accepting the English language's solo explanation for all truths.
Sep 11th, 2023 - 12:36 pm - Link - Report abuse -6The only thing that must be done here is two countries become mature and respectful of the other in all sense, and produce a final and permanent solution that will be satisfactory to all parties involved, including the islanders, and stop using the islander-lie as a a way to avoid sincerity in London.
Doesn’t say which of the Islanders rights he would respect.
Sep 11th, 2023 - 12:51 pm - Link - Report abuse -1No possibility of any ‘Hong Kong style’ deal, completely different situations.
However:
‘Argentina needed to “become a normal country” to persuade Islanders to seek closer ties.’
‘‘It may take many years but you cannot force on other people any decisions, not on Argentineans not on anyone, you cannot force decisions anymore, that has to stop,”
The Islands can become Argentinian if the Islanders choose that, this approach has at least the possibility of successes, however distant.
Trimonde,
Sep 11th, 2023 - 01:49 pm - Link - Report abuse +3Yes you are right in that these two countries should come together to end this dispute. Britain should in no uncertain terms tell the Argentines that Argentina has never owned these islands. Clear that up and we can all move on.
Reference to Hong Kong. In case you did not know Britain never fully owned Hong Kong but it did need to occupy the area for the period it agreed to. So it agreed with China to a lease back arrangement and they fulfilled that agreement.
However the Falklands are a completely different issue in as much Argentina has never had legal possession as Britain has.
Argentina thinks it inherited these islands from the Spanish who actually never granted that permission and could not in any case.
Argentina broke away from Spain and in doing so lost any rights to anything Spanish.
Now take that statement to the ICJ and have them confirm this story.
Then talk with not only Britain but the people who inhabit the islands. The people you refuse to accept exists. The people that were living here when you brutally invaded them in 1982.
The same people today that have international law on their side.
Like you said time has moved on and rights of people have changed. Think you will find the Falkland islanders in the end do have the power to decide their future.
Leaseback will never be granted to any country let alone Argentina. Do you think we are stupid.
We remember how deceitful you was when you invaded.
The islanders don't need to become Argentinians. The British and Americans took the islands from Argentina using force at a time Argentina could not defend the islands from their imperialistic abuse, the islanders came later under the administration of the British occupation. it's plain and simple. However, now they have been there for nearly 190 years, that's a fact. And yet, the ordering logic of starting an argument with whether the islanders want or don't want to BE Argentinian is flawed. One does not become a nationality solely based on what country is administrating the territory at a given time, OBVIOUSLY. It requires time and generations, cultural development and means of expressing that society's culture through its beliefs and customs etc, for a nationality to be defined. A solution to the dispute could mean the Islanders continue to be British citizens, Falklander citizens and an option to acquire Argentinian citizenship if they so desire, and yet, a final solution could be a sovereignty with more than one level to it, comprising of discerning sovereignty issues to where all parties may be satisfied. It could also mean concentrating FIG rights on one island while Argentinian rights on another island whilst preserving the integrity of the territory around the people who live on the islands. Our imagination is its own limit when it comes to UK and Argentina resolving this matter with the islanders. And it could very well lead to something that brings financial benefit, practicality and prosperity to a growing population with a greater ability to diversify thus preserving the environment

As Former President Ronald Reagan famously said READ MY LIPS.
We are never going to consider any proposals that Argentina desires.
Further no, the Americans and Britain did not remove you from a sovereign right. Your country was warned NOT to attempt to establish a colony on a British sovereign state. You totally and blatantly ignored those warnings and rightfully you were removed.
You blatantly invaded these islands in 1982 and again rightfully you were removed.
You preach about needing generations to establish a people. Let me tell you, we have 10 generations of people living here born here.
We were recognised as a British country before Argentina was granted independence from Spain.
You can argue on this and any other site and the answer will always be the same.
These islands are not up for sovereignty negotiations in any shape or form period.
The sooner you recognise that fact the better.
I laugh at your idea of east and west split.

Sep 11th, 2023 - 11:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It is interesting Trimonde is now saying the British and Americans took the islands from Argentina. This after last week when Malvinense rightfully conceded that it was indeed the Lexington raid that ended the Vernet business, not HMS Clio in January 1833.
To me this is progress, they played the eviction lie one too many times, wheeled out Maria Vernet at the UN to say how her ancestors were evicted, yet all the while the Pinedo's logs in Buenos Aires told a very different story.
If the brainwashed like Trimonde can subtly amend their stories when proven false, there is hope for others less thick.
Milei knows it will take a while to ween Argentines of the Peronist lie, whether the people accept his medicine time will tell, but he might just be their only hope.

Here’s How Narcissists Use Projection To Manipulate You (And What To Do About It):
They Use Character Assassination
If you’ve ever been the victim of character assassination, then you may know the far-reaching effects. Targeting someone’s character is the ultimate “go for the jugular” act. The link between malignant narcissism, racism and fascism
Narcissism was linked to fascism by the father of bioenergetic therapy, Alexander Lowen, in his outstanding book, ”Narcissism — Denial of the True Self”
Envy-The Forgotten Narcissistic Issue
Of the 7 deadly sins that are committed by humans, envy is primarily directed toward the destruction of an external object. Over the centuries, this unfortunate emotion has been the subject of inquiry by many disciplines (philosophy, religion, sociology, fiction, and so on). Among authors in the western philosophical tradition who have pondered the issue, Aristotle first wrote, We envy those whose possessions or achievements are a reflection on our own. They are our neighbors and equals. It is they, above all, who make plain the nature of our failure.1 Kant defined envy as a propensity to view the well-being of others with distress, even though it does not detract from one's own, and referred to it as that passion which views with malignant dislike the superiority of those who are really entitled to all the superiority they possess.1
Bacon, in his ninth essay, Of Envy, considered such affection as belonging to a man that hath no virtue in himself. In his keen observations, he noted 4 broad categories of envious individuals: deformed persons, and eunuchs, and old men; those who rise after calamities and misfortunes; those who desire to excel in too many matters, out of levity and vain glory; and near kinsfolks, and fellows in office.
Schopenhauer also pondered envy's destructive nature. The worst trait in human nature . . . is schadenfreude [pleasure taken from the misfortunes of others], for it is closely related to cruelty.

Inconvenient truths of the Islas Malvinas # 25
Sep 14th, 2023 - 07:42 pm - Link - Report abuse -6Argentina has consistently protested the British Empire invasion of Malvinas
Has been truthful in treaties signed; it is a bit rich to claim otherwise, as we all know the British have consistently broken their promises, whether by lying, omission, or blatant disregard of what they signed.
The British have creatively invented the discovery, claim and settlement of Malvinas, and
Stole this foreign land from a newly created nation they signed and agreement of recognition, friendship and trading treaty in 1825.
Argentina recognises that the British descendants of the British invaders and usurpers of 1833 live in our islands.
Argentina is a young, proud country with world class scientists, and with abundant natural resources. We’ll get over this, as we want our country to be the nation we were born to be. We descend from warriors, patriots that gave their lives for our independence.
On the other hand, an interesting online survey of British citizens have shown that less than 10% of the Britain population thinks the Islas Malvinas are British, and 50% think their sovereignty should be returned to Argentina, and they are correct!

Sep 14th, 2023 - 10:49 pm - Link - Report abuse +2Your idiocy is shining through.
Argentina did not claim the Islands in 1825. We asked, in 1824 what was being claimed.
The answer was long, but there was no mention of the Falklands.
https://falklandstimeline.files.wordpress.com/2018/01/an_account_historical_political_and_stat.pdf
Everytime the islands are mentioned. Argentina invents a myth to portray how they belong to them. Fact is Argentina is just a land grabber. Got away with grabbing most of Patagonia but stopped when they tried to land grab these islands. There is a clear reason why Argentina wants the British Falkland Islands. It has never been about always being a part of their territory, but the only section of territory stopping Argentina controlling the whole of the south Atlantic down to Antarctica.
Sep 14th, 2023 - 11:40 pm - Link - Report abuse +2Even if another Country had discovered and occupied these islands Argentina would still mount the same claim. Just as they tried to take part of Chile so they could control the southern Pacific route.

Inconvenient truths of the Islas Malvinas # 26
Sep 16th, 2023 - 04:52 pm - Link - Report abuse -3I was much entertained reading the posts in this article! It begs believe some answers, considering the British past history. Take for example the accusatory claim of ‘land grabbing’, as if we wouldn’t know that since its tribesmen times to this day, the British’s 1st aim was and is to obtain land & resources at any cost. Saying this is an Argentinian defect brings attention to your own historical greed.
Equally deliciously laughable is to be called ‘pirates of the XXI century’ by the descendants of the real pirates, those that slaved, conquered & subjugated a big part of the world during the colonial time period. That was the way it was then, but to attempt to maintain this wrongful situation in this time, is just undemocratic from those claiming the British Empire doesn’t exist anymore.
Argentina didn’t mention the Islas Malvinas in 1825, simply because there was no need, as they were in our possession. They were Spanish and passed on to be Argentinian by the iuri possidetis iuri principle of international law, that still today is used to recognise the right of a former colony to maintain its territorial integrity after their independence.
Ms Mondino’s interview with The Telegraph had a positive outcome for our country in the robust discussion that followed it. It served a good purpose too, as once more the Malvinas were at the center of the MSM in full force, remaining the presidential candidates that our sovereignty is not for sale, neither to be ceded.
As British still don’t know where the Malvinas are located, or why they should keep them, we have reinforced our claims to them as a country.
I stand by my country’s position on the Cuestion of Malvinas, as we have the historical, geographical, and legal rights I, and my countrymen before me have mentioned many times.
I don’t need to insult or call names to anyone here. That is the big difference between us, dear British readers.
Of course taenk will twist the subject.
Sep 16th, 2023 - 06:57 pm - Link - Report abuse +2What he never admits to in land grabbing that Dpain invaded south America and stole all the land on the first place.
