    Mexico displaced China in 2023 as the US main trading partner

    Mexico still imports most of the natural gas used in industrial settings from the US. S&P Global notes that those areas are already saturated and would need more infrastructure.

    During 2023 Mexico became the leading sources of goods imported by the United States, displacing China for the first time in more than twenty years. According to the US Department of Commerce Mexico's resurgence signals a significant shift in global commerce dynamics.
