Success of Falklands delegation two weeks visit of Uruguay
The Falkland Islands close relations and bonds with Uruguay were again confirmed this year by the delegation that spent a couple of weeks in the country visiting farms, agriculture research centres, plus promoting trade, tourism, science, education and the wonderful support from the British Hospital in Montevideo caring for our patients.

De Moraes collects X fines from Starlink accounts
Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre De Moraes ordered funds in the amount of R$ 18.3 million (around US$ 3.29 million) from the Internet Service Provider Starlink transferred to the Federal Government in payments for fines he imposed on the social media platform X for failing to comply with his ruling.

Biden and Starmer discuss broad military strategies worldwide
US President Joseph Biden and British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer met Friday at the White House to discuss the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine among other issues. Had it been approved, it would have upped tensions with Moscow and could have triggered an all-out war between Russia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Hence, a decision on this matter was postponed.

Chilean Air Force still investigating last month's alleged intrusion
Chile's Deputy Defense Minister Ricardo Montero said Friday in an interview with Radio Bío Bío that his country's Air Force (FACh) was still investigating the Aug. 27 alleged intrusion of unidentified aircraft in an area near the Strait of Magellan which triggered an emergency response protocol.

Chile joins South Africa's ICJ case against Israel
The Chilean Government of President Gabriel Boric Font announced Friday that the South American country had joined South Africa's filing before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel for its alleged breach of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide against the Palestinian community.

Bolivian President to oversee firefighting efforts in Beni
Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora will personally oversee firefighting and relief efforts in the department of Beni, where eight of the 19 municipalities are affected by the dense smoke caused by the environmental crisis. Arce will arrive Saturday in the city of Trinidad, the capital of the department where the presence of a Venezuelan team of 61 firefighters and other types of humanitarian aid are also expected.
