A team of researchers are using drones and satellite images from space to count southern elephant seals on the sub-Antarctic Island of South Georgia. Using remotely piloted aerial systems (RPAS) to capture detailed ‘on the ground’ photos; the team will compare these with satellite imagery taken from space. This work will update the last island-wide census, conducted nearly 30-years ago. Read full article

Another territory usurped by the United Kingdom, its correct name is San Pedro Island, not Georgias.

Yes Juan, he is an extremely sad little man, and on top of that he lies through his teeth, and his country usurped Patagonia,

When was South Georgia usurped Malvi?

Was there another made up civilisation that was never evicted?

Or perhaps another made up inheritance from Spain that never happened?

Or maybe…just like the Falklands it’s a load of made up bollocks that you are too stupid to see through?

I would say though Malvi, if your country had just seized South Georgia in 1982, we would never had sent a task force and it’d now be yours.

But your country stupidly invaded a populated British protectorate and cost 900 lives. The 900 people you continually disrespect with your trolling

It’s funny, the loony Malvinistas claim that the Falklands belong to Argentina because there is a disputed first sighting, a vacated Spanish colony, and a German business for 2 years 200 years ago.

For South Georgia, Britain sighted first, landed first and have held sovereignty for its entire history, but Argentina claims it.

This tells you the Argie Malvinistas don’t actually care or believe their silly myths about the Falklands, they just want a land grab.

The sad thing is 1833 knows the truth but can not and will not accept as it will mean he has wasted so much of his life on a pack of lies, the other Argie poster trolls i expect nothing more from them, indoctrination worked well on them.
i have spoken to a few Argentines who live in the real world and they know the islands will never be theirs, only a few thousand fanatical clowns keep the nonsense up,

    Esteban

I believe you are right Esteban.

When Malvi first joined these forums he was full off the normal Malvinista brainwashing, “inheritance from Spain, Usurpation by force, evicted population, implanted people etc”, he was polite and genuinely seemed willing to have debate.

Sadly, as the real evidence was revealed to him, particularly surrounding the true events of Nov-Jan 1832-33 as meticulously detailed in the logs of the ARA Sarandi, he seemed to move his position slightly.

But recently he has turned full troll, spouting nonsense he knows is factually incorrect and trying to illicit responses for attention. This is a shame.

Had Spain formally handed sovereignty over to Argentina, the Spanish settlements remained on the islands and become Argentine, the population grown and expanded and then in 1833 a British ship had evicted the entire population, there may be questions to answer...and even then the current population would still have sovereignty....

As it is...none of it happened, not a single person left the islands on Jan 6th 1833 that didn't want to leave on Jan 5th 1833. No usurpation, no eviction...nothing. and Malvi knows this.
