    Argentine President Javier Milei attended the traditional TeDeum at Buenos Aires' cathedral on Saturday before flying to Córdoba for the main celebrations of the May 25 national holiday during which he had hoped to launch what he called “the May Pact” with most provincial governors but failed.

    Royal Air Force (RAF) Squadron Leader Mark Long died Saturday when his Spitfire fighter crashed during a reenactment of the Battle of Britain Coningsby base in Lincolnshire. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who has recently taken an additional interest in military affairs, described the incident as “awful” news.

    Outbreak of leptospirosis in Brazil's flooded areas; health authorities warning

    It is estimated flooding has affected 2,3 million of the 10 million population of Brazil's most southern state that has borders with Argentina and Uruguay.

    The first four deaths from the waterborne bacterial disease, leptospirosis, have been reported in the southern Brazil state of Rio Grande do Sul, where floodwaters following days of unprecedented rainfall have started to recede, but health authorities are warning of additional fatalities.

But this football team does not play in Palestine, or even the Middle East. Better known as Palestino, they actually play in Chile’s top football league, the Primera División de Chile.

    Azul and Gol launch codeshare partnership

    Brazilian carriers Azul and Gol announced an agreement whereby each company could sell seats on codeshare domestic flights solely operated by the other, Agencia Brasil reported Friday. The understanding will become effective next month, it was also explained. Routes on which both companies compete directly are excluded.
