New Zealand will triple its tax for foreign tourists, beginning October first. The cost of the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy will jump to NZ$100 (£47.20) from NZ$35 (£16.52).

Argentine man with monkeypox dies in Mexico

Santiago Molina, a 28-year-old man who contracted monkeypox and was hospitalized in Mexico, has died or a cardiac arrest, it was reported Tuesday. The patient passed away Sunday but the case only went public Tuesday.

Falklands/Brize Norton airbridge flights fully booked; recommendations for challenging September

The Falkland Islands Government with the UK Ministry of Defense is working on bookings and waiting lists for the airbridge, during the month of September and announced the following release, ”Our community will be aware of the current strain on Airbridge flights where all flights are fully booked, and nearly every flight waitlisted. The cancelled and returned flights in late August has added additional pressure on the availability of Airbridge seats.

Downspout affects Paraguayan foreign trade freight rates

Venezuela: Arrest warrant issued against Edmundo González Urrutia

A Venezuelan court Monday issued an arrest warrant against former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, who the opposition insists won the July 28 polls with 67% of the vote, thus failing to recognize the National Electoral Council's (CNE) announcement that the incumbent Nicolás Maduro had prevailed with a 52% support. This result was later validated by the Supreme Court (TSJ) at Maduro's request.

Brazil's STF panel upholds De Moraes' decisions against X

Brazil's Supreme Federal Court (STF) unanimously backed case rapporteur Alexandre De Moraes' decision to suspend X from South America's largest country. The five members of the STF's First Chamber voted virtually and concurrently to uphold De Moraes' ruling to shut down the social network X in the country.
