falklands are in a strong position to weather the storm. falklands GD in 2022 was £278m = £76k per capita based on civil population of 3,662 at 2021 census. similar to the usa of £73k and much more than uk per capita income of £37k!

I think Trump has his geographical and political facts wrong- Toothfish is caught off South Georgia - a seperate Govt and Administration to the Falklands and it is the South Georgia Govt who sells and has the income from the Toothfish Licences in their CCAMLAR area of control.
The Falklands link is just that the fish has to be landed on the docks here and check weighed as it is loaded into reefer containers to wherever the market is.

@ Islander1: indeed, as Trump is even putting Tarrifs on uninhabited Islands (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/03/donald-trump-tariffs-antarctica-uninhabited-heard-mcdonald-islands) guess he just got his geography wrong. Shows what kind of sloppy office he runs

Kike, Trumpty Dumpty probably thought that the Penguins from the heard-mcdonald islands exported chocolate Penguin biscuits to the USA,
