Dave Morgan, from windy Falklands to Deputy Governor of sunny Bermuda
A senior British diplomat has been announced in the role of Deputy Governor of Bermuda, as reported by the Caribbean media. Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, said Dave Morgan would take over the post held at present by Tom Oppenheim MBE.

Indigenous groups ready for week-long protest in Brasilia
Some 10,000 indigenous people from across Brazil are expected to stage the 21st edition of the Free Land Camp (ATL) in Brasília between April 7 and 11 to advocate for land demarcation and oppose the Temporal Framework, which restricts demarcation rights to territories occupied by 1988. Indigenous leaders reject mining proposals and highlight the harmful impacts on communities like the Yanomami.

Most of Chile sets clocks backwards during the weekend
Chile went back to winter time as of Sunday in most of the country's territory. On Saturday, April 5, at 23:59, clocks in most of continental Chile were set back one hour to 23:00, shifting from UTC-3 to UTC-4, except in the regions of Aysén del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo (capital: Coyhaique) and Magallanes. Its capital being Punta Arenas, it also includes Chile's Antarctica. Both have retained daylight saving time (UTC-3)

UK discussing sale of two RN amphibious assault ships to Brazil
UK is in discussions with Brazil about the potential sale of Royal Navy warships HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark. Both vessels are amphibious assault ships used to land Royal Marines and equipment ashore.
