The following organizations, SAERI, Shallow Marine Survey Group, Falklands Conservation, Consolidated Fisheries Limited, FIG’s Fisheries Department, Falkland Islands Fishing Companies Association, Falklands’ Outdoor are extending an invitation for an exciting afternoon packed with ocen-themes activities, fascinating facts and hands on fun for all ages.

There will be tea, coffee and testy bites to keep you fueled as you explore and discover more about our amazing ocean and the life it supports.

The United Nations celebrates World Oceans Day every year on 8 June. Many countries have celebrated this special day since 1992, following the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro.

The theme for World Ocean Day 2025 is Sustainable Fishing Means, “More Sustaining that Sustains us”. This year's theme underscores the importance of sustainable fishing practices in ensuring the health and abundance of marine resources for generations to come.

This year’s World Oceans Day will be celebrated in Nice, France, ahead of the UN Ocean Conference, 9 to 13 June.
